"Its gotten a lot better. I had heard all the bad stories coming out of St Michaels 2-3 years ago. About 2 years ago, I had to rush my wife into the Emergency Dept with some unknown illness. I worked in the ED for 2 years as an EMT/Aid, and the care was horrendous. The lead nurse literally walked off the job while we were there. The doctor ignored half of the findings, ordered tests that they never ran, and was dismissive and snide. However, I ended up in the ED this week (complications after knee surgery). What a difference! The check in/triage was friendly and prompt. The time to draw blood was super fast and the nurse explained every step ahead of time. The various nurses and techs made sure I was good almost every other minute. The ED Doc (Dr. Brenner) was outstanding: incredibly attentive and made me feel confident that they were going to fast track what could be a dangerous medical condition. I ended up getting 2 imaging tests almost immediately, and the transport lady and the CT Tech were "joyous and super personable". My mom was an ED nurse for 40 years and because she worked the night shift, I was partly raised by her nurse friends. I dont recall any of them being joyous ever - maybe personable at times, but not much. By the time I was wheeled back from imaging they had already read my CT. Dr Brenner informed that I was all clear, the odds of something happening and I was out the door within a few minutes. I don't know if it was the team I got was great due to timing, but its a complete 180. Similarly, I had 2 surgeries there within 12 months. The first time most care providers were great, but one problematic one that I had to ask to swap her out. This time around (late Feb 2024) the care was impeccable. Super super attentive and caring."
"This review is for the Sleep Disorders Center in Silverdale.I've been a Sleep Medicine patient here for years. Besides receiving treatment for my Sleep Apnea, I've been treated to the best medical professionals in the business.Brenda Abraham, ARNP is a warm and compassionate provider and on occasion advising me to take better care of myself when I needed to lose weight and improve my diet. She's a gem. Tammy Balkcom RRT is the educator who helps determine proper sleep disorder equipment like CPAP machines, masks, etc. Tammy's another warm and compassionate soul who, working in tandem with Brenda, has worked hard to ensure I have the most effective equipment and supplies to get a decent night's sleep. I say 'decent night's sleep' because I think my body's incapable of giving me a good night's sleep anymore. But without Brenda and Tammy, I'd be up all night not sleeping at all. I should know. Before working with them I tried counting sheep and then attempted to train the sheep to read me a bedtime story. I stayed awake all night because I kept losing count and the sheep would have to start reading the story all over again. And then I had to spend most of the morning cleaning up after the sheep. A CPAP machine works better with far less work on my end."
"Beautiful hospital. Staff is so nice and friendly. It’s really easy to get lost inside. Definitely ask an employee for directions. There is a trail around the hospital. If you want to take a walk and get away from the hospital."
"Thank God for these folks! (Shout out to ER nurse Becky! You're amazing!) We arrived terrified, with a relative having a stroke. 3 days later, again. Doctor's and nurses were kind, efficient and respectful of an old man very confused about why he couldn't speak or reason. Their kindness was incredible. Thank you all so much!!!"
"First time to the ER and honestly I usually got to an ER with low expectations and expecting wait for hours and hours. Reception check in was so pleasant, professional and kind. I was taken to a room within minutes. Nurse and doctor were kind and knowledgeable. Facility was clean and looked brand new. Checked out within 90 minutes which for me is a record! Thank you to all. I am so happy I chose this ER."
