"This school is a black page in the history of schools! I don't have a clue how this place even is still standing! Also the building is falling apart, broken windows, and bad hygiene overall."
"As a person who has been around many schools in their time, quilcene school is one of the worst. The amount of corruption and unorganized chaos in this school is simply astonishing. As a former high schooler here, I could tell you that this school is unlawfully suspending students in the higher grades. Ive known many freinds that are brand new to this school, and have been suspended on first offense, for irrelevant actions that would normally deserve a warning, not a suspension that stays permanently on your record. I believe that's this is happening cause of the new management of the school, I would no longer recommend this school in its current state. Please do better Qsd."
"I went to school here 28 years ago I loved it then my last ne was different"
"As someone who graduated from here… I could tell you numerous things wrong with this school. There are good things, but unfortunately the bad out weights the good for me. I attended from 11th - 12th grade here. From my personal experience it’s a very sheltered environment. I had poor grades/attendance from my previous years at another school before my family had moved to Quilcene. I should have been replaced into 10th grade to repeat. The school informed my parents that I could be placed into 11th grade without any issues. Come to find out they waived so many credits without my knowledge or my parents. To the point where I have to take numerous college prerequisites, to even start/pursue the career I’ve decided to follow. Also when I was in 11th grade, I was inappropriately grabbed by a male staff member and screamed at like I was his own child in his home. Simply because he was working on the printers in the schools library with no note on the door of the entrance that the printers are not available at the moment. My teacher had sent me to the library to retrieve my essay i had printed out. So the teacher was not even aware they were closed. THE SCHOOL AND STAFF TOOK NO ACTION: other than having him give me an apology i don’t think he truly meant. When truly I did not even feel comfortable with him being in the room with me. Considering when this incident happened in the school’s library I was alone. The school very obviously took his side, as far as I know he still works there. Only reason i had to stay in that school is because of how low income my household was. My parents couldn’t afford a 30 minute drive 2x day for me. My parents did advise me that if that man ever came never me to call them immediately and go to the office. Over the years of living in the community. I have watched them fire or run off some of the greatest teachers i have known. Also recently deciding to fire one of their employees who has been there for over a decade I believe. For no other reason than budget cuts. But they have gotten grants and other numerous funding. Also the superintendent has allegedly taken the schools Tractor. Mind you that was paid with tax payer money. Home for personal use. It also allegedly came back needing repairs. I am writing this not to bash anyone, but to inform parents that this is not a good option for your children in my opinion. It’s worth the drive to Chimacum or Port Townsend. I experienced a lot of bullying here due to not being raised or from here. It’s not a welcoming environment. Again, my own two cents but I think this should be known to future parents and or guardians looking to placed there child in the hands of this school. Please do better QHS."
