Alexandria World War I Memorial

"I just stumbled across this monument while exploring Alexandria. It was beautifully designed and well maintained, a very fitting memorial for those who lost their lives in service to our country. I also enjoyed the fact that they had interpretive signs explaining the monument, it's history, and the stories of some of those it remembers. Many monuments lack this, and that is a wonderful addition. I would say stop by when in the area, it's a unique thing to see and to learn about this piece of local history."

"Nice little memorial to those who fought in the Great War. Also has a Civil War historical sign next to it. Nice little park. Not easy to find unless you are looking for it."

"Made from material from an old column from the nearby George Washington National Masonic Memorial, this small memorial was erected in 1940 to honor citizens who served and gave their lives during World War I. There's a small plaque describing the memorial and Alexandria's Union Station, built in 1905, is behind the memorial."

"This is a small memorial surrounded by flowers. It was made m in 1940 partly by Veterans of Foreign Wars. It's in a great location, just outside the Amtrak station and across from the Masonic Memorial, making it convenient to check out if you're in the area."
