About the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park
Located at 142 West Potomac Street in Williamsport, Maryland, the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park is dedicated to preserving America's early transportation history. The park was once a vital lifeline for communities along the Potomac River, serving as a passage for coal, lumber, and agricultural products to reach market. Reviews of Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park
"We had the best time biking along the river! Minimal bugs and the trails were super easy to navigate, even for my partner who was riding a road bike. Highly recommend."
"Whoo almost missed the cancellation stamp. It's in this building (gray building with C &O canal written on it). Go to side door near horse statue. Stamp is next to pamphlets after you enter first set of doors"
"A great expenditure of time and treasure, thousands of emigrants lost life building the Chesapeake and Ohio canal. A must see, just like the Egyptian Pyramid. And a wonderful out of doors experience."
"Nice new spot in Williamsport. Nice addition"
