"Grasshopper was our first ever experience with a preschool. It was such a smooth and pleasant introduction to sending our eldest out into the world. He started there at age 2.5. We loved the warmth and wisdom of Assia and her team. They create an ideal environment that honors that each child is a unique individual and encourages a love of learning and building friendships & community."

"Grasshopper Montessori fosters a community of connection, curiosity, and joy amidst which learning flourishes. Our child attended from 2.5yo to 5yo; and two years later, continues to reminisce fondly about experiences at Grasshopper. Assia and Natalie are masterful at reinforcing kids' inherent motivation, holding the sometime tensions between having a predictable routine and being flexible for spontaneous opportunities, and engaging the kids in community participation while creating space for individual exploring. They are thoughtful about ensuring the physical environment, the lessons, and the expectations align with the values of belonging and respect they prioritize. We observed that the caring they offered to each child was reciprocated in the children caring for each other. Learning French provided our kid the implicit understanding that there are different ways to describe the world and the joy of listening carefully. He transitioned from French to Spanish immersion for kindergarten without frustration, familiar with the process of absorbing a new language. As much as our child loved his Grasshopper friends, we also cherished the friendships with Grasshopper families. Assia and Natalie have cultivated a very special school."

"Grasshopper Montessori was our first ever daycare and we could not have been happier. Miss Marine and Miss Assia are both amazing with kids and my kid was at home with them in no time. I was blown away by how fast my hindi-speaking kid picked up English and the entire credit goes to them. The only reason we left because we moved farther away from Leschi, but have recommended Grasshopper to all our friends in the area multiple times."

"My family was so fortunate to find Grasshopper. My son attended preschool there from age 2.5 - kindergarten. The welcoming multilingual and multicultural environment was exactly what we were looking for. It had a perfect mix of structure, high expectation mixed with high warmth, and freedom and autonomy to help my son become a caring, respectful, and independent kid. In fact, we moved away for a period of time and, upon returning to Seattle, made decisions based on our ability to re-enroll our son at Grasshopper because, by then, it felt like part of our family! He went straight into 1st grade at another Montessori school where he is thriving. I can't imagine those early years without Grasshopper and can't recommend them more highly!"

"We are eternally grateful for the role Grasshopper has played in our son’s and our family’s life. He began at Grasshopper as a 2 1/2 year old and entered kindergarten fully prepared socially and emotionally, with reading and math skills well ahead of where he needed to be, and most importantly with boundless curiosity and a love of learning. Every staff member we worked with over the years was kind, knowledgeable and dedicated to the art and science of teaching, and to nurturing our child’s growth."
