"Great place to visit. Like taking a step back in time. Old logging town near Snowshoe Mountain that has been restored. Community store with unique gift items, old soda counter with ice cream, and old drug store counter. Restaurant where you can sit and relax and have a bite to eat. Museum featuring many items that were once used in the logging industry. Theater were you can learn more about town history. Walking tour of town. Train rides that take you through the mountains. Also buildings that have been redone and are available for overnight stays."
"This town is really cool! Make sure you take the time to tour around what is now a cabin/resort town, that used to be a logging town. They have restored 23 of the original buildings and now use them as cabins you can rent! Absolutely make sure you take a tour of the historical theater and watch the video of the towns history, it is super cool!"
"Very cute town with a lot of history!"
"We had a great time on the steam train ride to Bald Knob! You don't get to see a working steam engine very often. My nephew absolutely loved the whistle!"
"Awesome place... company houses.... old mill... restaurant and gift shop..."
