"I've been going to Alpine Hut on and off now for over 20 years. There's a lot that's good about this place, and I like how local it is. They need to make a living, but I always feel a little bit squeezed for some extra cash. A little handful of bike bolts and such that in other places would have been 10 bucks rung up for like $27 one time. This is happened a lot. Just bought msrp $485 ski boot liners. The liners are great and the staff was solid. But the kid who fit my liners threw a Alpine Hut branded shoe horn in the box too. It felt like it was going to be swag - thanks for netting this shop a good size sale. But at the register after I look at my receipt he charged me 15 bucks for it. And a pretty hefty fee for liner fitting as well. Nobody told me ahead of time that there was going to be a charge for either of these things, which I think would be a pretty normal thing to do. It's not always industry practice to charge for the fitting - I've had plenty of ski boot fittings that have been free along with the purchase of the boots. If you're going to be charged for something you ought to be told up front. And so it goes in Alpine Hut. I expected to pay plenty for the very expensive boot liners I bought. But then there's that extra 75 bucks on top of it I wasn't expecting. So as usual I walk out with a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I think it's just the place's business culture because over a very long time it's never been any different. But it's a good shop, decent people, nice dogs, generally know what they're talking about. I'd go in a lot more often except for always feeling slightly turned upside down and shook."
"Disclaimer: I haven't been into the shop yet, but I made a phone call with a boot question that has an almost impossible solution. The wonderful woman who answered the phone had the knowledge to provide me with the info I needed and was extremely helpful and kind. I can see why this place has the reputation that it does, and I will be in for a boot fitting in the near future. Definitely a five star shop. I can't wait to go check out the store."
"Alpine Hut is our go to shop for skis, ski boots and bikes. They team is spectacular whether it is outfitting youth with skis/boots/bikes, or advanced adult skiers. Most recently I had a boot blow out less than a week before an out of town ski trip. As everyone knows, it is not a good idea to go big with new boots. Kyle spent two hours with me working through boots and the custom fitting. Based on his work, I was able to do a three day heli trip with brand new boots. All of this was done with a less than 24 hour lead time. In essence, they saved a trip. I'd also like to give Sarah a big shoutout. She knows her stuff across skiing and biking and has infectious enthusiasm."
"Fantastic ski shop, extremely knowledgeable staff and a great selection! I’ve purchased boots here and had skis tuned here. The staff worked with me to dial in the boots to a great fit. Edge tunes/waxes/base grinds always come back great. Happy to say, Alpine Hut is the best in town."
"Alpine Hut is my go-to ski shop in Seattle - I drive past several other closer shops to go here for my alpine ski needs. It's got classic ski-shop vibes - old school gear and posters are mixed into an excellent product mix. What really sets this place apart though is the staff - Kyle is a master boot fitter and helped dial in the fit on my new boots for my notoriously tricky feet. They also expertly mounted my new skis and bindings. Support your local shop run by real skiers and head to Alpine hut! Also: If you're lucky you can pet the shop dogs!"
