"Now a historical building from the Lorton Prison's past. The bricks created here were made for the prison and beyond. The scenic surroundings are within view of the Occoquan River, where ducks and other fowls and birds nest, visitors hike, fish, and enjoy many more activities, within the park area."
"The Beehive Brick Kilns were used to make brick that was used all over Virginia. It was also used by the Lorton Correctional Facility. In other words inmates made bricks as part of their punishments...er...corrections? The nine kilns (which were once here) could hold about 12 thousand bricks being firing - which does seem a lot. The remaining kiln is one of the oldest structures of the facility - in fact from what I understand they used the bricks it made to make the buildings of the facility."
"Wonderful park! Wonderful vacation!"
