"I used Gary from “Wright Worx” to completely remodel my 2nd home. Photos of the portions completed to follow! He stopped coming to the job 1/2 way through when I asked about the quality of his work. I questioned his reason for abandoning the job since all his invoices were current. Gary said this project was a second home for me and since it not my primary home, his other projects, including any projects he had contracted after me, took precedence. I asked if Gary could correct the issues with his work up to this point and he said “no.” The siding and the trim are not properly attached to the studs so, only after a few months, most are popping off. None of the edges of the window frames were mitered so the edge of all of the trim is exposed to the elements. The key to my garage was broken inside the lock by Gary’s workers, he agreed that his employee did break the key, but refused to fix the issue, he came back and tried to pull the broken key out of the lock but was unsuccessful. He apologized, but refused to pay for a locksmith. We had asked that the entire house be completely sealed off before they started the siding and foundation work, but we still have squirrels getting into the house! I understand that mice are still getting in, but I don’t think the foundation has been completed closed, otherwise I have no idea how a squirrel is gaining access! When Gary abandoned the project, the plumbing was left exposed. I asked if he could direct me to his licensed plumber so I could pay them again to complete the incomplete work. Only after months of calls, I threatened to call the Virginia Home Improvement Commission. Finally, Gary had a person claiming to be a “plumber” call me and said he could come back to complete the project. I met the “plumber” onsite and told him my concerns. I wanted to know if the water lines under the house were insulated and if they were tested for leaks. I also asked if he could show me the general area where he ran the water lines a few months prior. At first, the “plumber” said he couldn’t remember where any of the water lines were placed, then he said he could put 1200 PSI pressure into the lines to make sure the lines didn’t leak! I am not a plumber or a contractor, but I know that this amount of pressure is not a normal household water pressure. The next day, Gary’s “plumber” called and apologized. He said he is not a plumber and does not work for Gary, but Gary had ask if he wanted to “make some money”, he could “pretend” that he was a plumber and could finish this job! I see 10 reviews here and it appears my job was an anomaly! Maybe on other projects Gary does wonderful work? Maybe the reviews are not actual customers? All I can do is add the few photos that I took and anyone here can judge and make an informed decision if this is the level/quality of work they are looking for?"
