Reviews of CiloGear
"Trying to call em for last 2 months - No answer. Voice mail everytime. Called morning, evening right at 10AM or at 4PM - same thing no answer. I have two of their packs - guide 60 and worksack 70. Practically no support. They used to at least pick up the phone before when I did call in the morning. I am not sure if they still in business or just don't care any more. Very Frustrating."
"Cilogear * weight * Durable? Cons * Almost everything anyone writing positive reviews for this company might be getting paid by the company to do it. I challenge those writing positive reviews to wear my backpack and go backpacking with me, if you dont accept the challenge, you might be lying I have tested expensive bag 75L W/NWD bag $1500 in the Himalayas on an expedition to Ama Dablam for 1 month. This bag is the most uncomfortable bag I have worn in my mountaineering career. I wonder if you have field tested it? This bag is 75L but it cannot carry more than 20 pounds comfortably. Why make such a large volume ice climbing bag for $1500? Are the materials so expensive? I have hyperlight mountain gear backpacks which are also 75 liter, made of same damn material and they are lighter and 1/3 the price. This is a SCAM!! The shoulder straps bit into my shoulder, causing intense pain and caused the blood supply to stop to my hands. It's in fact a dangerous bag and can lead to accidents on the mountain. I covered more than 80 miles with this backpack, so I know what I am talking. I spent lot of money on this and could have bought three backpacks which were more comfortable. I want modifications done on it or please take the return. 1. Shoulder straps very short and not well padded and very uncomfortable. They even block blood supply in the axilla/armpit because it creates a tourniquet effect 2. There should be more padding over the sacral area for heavy loads. 3. Side pockets are impossible to access while the bag is on my back and it's full. They are also useless to store anything when backpack is full because they lose their volume. This bag is not waterproof!! It's damn stiff! Stiff! And stiff!! The chest strap connecting the shoulder straps will rise up to your throat if you try loosening the shoulder straps to give your painful shoulders a break! I carried 30 kg in this pack!! I was miserable!! It's not possible to shift the weight to the hips when the shoulders are getting tired! That's why I say, has this pack been field tested?"
"These are among the best packs made anywhere, bar none. I've had mine for a while now and they are bombproof. Cilo Gear is not a generic pack manufacturer, they make functional and capable packs that are purpose-built for alpinists and outdoors people. Highly recommended."
"These are the best climbing packs on the market. Simple and solid. They are craft made upon purchase which means it could take a little while to get your pack....Deal with it, you won't buy another pack for years."
"my wife ordered a pack october 12 2015 but production delays prevented delivery. after approximately 17 weeks, i finally asked for a refund (which my wife is still working on as of this writing). i have never had a retail experience like this before. there is virtually no assurance that your order will arrive in a timely fashion."
