Reviews of Former U.S. Marine Hospital Building
"It’s a great place to work to be sure to stay active."
"I was sad to realize it wasn’t a supervillain’s evil lair."
"This place is haunted. Ask any Seattle old timer. The basement is where the billing department is located. I worked there 6 years ago. I would sit at my desk to begin work at 7:00 a.m. Several days in a row I heard little children giggling and running back and forth. I told my supervisor what was happening and asked her to come to my desk. She refused. I found another job."
"Super impressive historical building that exudes a timeless beauty with its polished Art Deco architecture. I was in town visiting family and saw it glowing atop Beacon Hill as we drove down the freeway. I had to get a closer look and so drove up to it. I was taking pictures for about 20min when a security guard came out to enquire as to why I was there. I told him and then asked about its history. As he told me its history I marveled at the architecture, beauty, and sheer size of it. Bright lights are brilliantly placed so that they light up most of the exterior making it appear as if it glows. I'm a Marine Corps Veteran so I was very happy to hear it had been a Marine Hospital back in the day. We talked for some time before he asked to see my ID and I acquiesced. He then offered to give me a quick tour inside, before making his next rounds to which I was incredibly grateful. He took me through the foyer, up to the top floor and out onto the exterior deck with an amazing view of downtown Seattle and the Waterfront. I was shocked by how well preserved everything was. It's like stepping back in time. We Marine’s take great pride in our appearance and especially in uniform. This historical building represents the Corps perfectly as it's so clean, polished, and impressive. It stands tall & proud atop Beacon Hill. t goes to show that when you're nice and respectful to others, sometimes that kindness is returned in ways you least expect."
