Reviews of Anderson Island Historical Society
"Beautiful little museum about the history of the island. Was really interesting to find out more about Anderson Island. The staff were really kind and really seemed to have a passion for the topic. Overall, it was a great experience."
"This is a fascinating historical museum/archive/gardens site. Lots of memorabilia and displays about different aspects of life on Anderson Island through the years. Including a a display about the geologic formation of the island. It has an active community garden. There is an old phone booth here. The gift shop is an old chicken coop rated for a thousand chickens dating to about the 1930's. It also has an event space with a small stage, if needed. Main building is very well maintained. Grounds are well cared for."
"Everything that makes Anderson Island a welcoming community in one place. Make Johnson Farm part of your visit. And if you are an Island resident, this is a great place to engage and connect."
"A great place to visit not only for the history of Anderson Island but also the Southern Puget Sound region. Plus...it's a nice ferry ride if you want to just take the family over for the day and back with great views of Mt. Rainier from the ferry. (see photo) There's one small store and a decent restaurant."
"Beautiful historic farm that has been converted to a community garden and visitor center/museum. There are gifts, art and jewelry for sale, as well as artifacts, photos, and historical journals and articles in the museum. Definitely worth a visit if you're spending a day on the island."
