"Disappointed with this place for dinner. The space is gorgeous and I wanted to love it, but the food was overpriced and not very good. We ordered the ravioli, carbonara, cod, and nori bread. The bread was my favourite part — the texture was very fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and it takes like the little packs of seaweed snacks — unique and tasty if you like nori! The pastas were both very heavy, the ravioli plate was full of butter, and felt greasy, and the carbonara was heavy as is, but also had pieces of pork belly that were the only source of flavour, but too fatty to enjoy with the dish. The cod is the plate we had issue with: the member of our party requested that the barley doesn’t include chorizo (for religious reasons), which the waiter said was fine, but there were still pieces of it in the dish when it arrived. The server was very nice about handling the issue and mistakes do happen, but this was an unfortunate way to end our meal. Expensive for the quality of food."
"At The George, the ambiance and service lived up to expectations, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, the culinary experience was somewhat inconsistent. The scallops stood out as exceptional, truly a highlight, but the bone marrow, though delicious, was disappointingly scant, offering barely a bite amidst a surplus of mushrooms and bread. The Steak Frites was merely satisfactory, and I found myself leaving the fries untouched, wishing for an alternative potato accompaniment. On a brighter note, the lobster served with the steak did impress. The deep-fried mushrooms were passable but failed to wow. Overall, the meal felt more like an upscale American lunch than the fancy dinner I had anticipated. Given our previous delightful experiences at The George, I remain optimistic about their capabilities. I'll be looking forward to the next menu refresh before planning another visit."
"The restaurant truly lives up to the title of one Seattle's most beautiful restaurants. There's a bar and lounge area that are as equally impressive that lead to the entrance to the restaurant. I went there for lunch and had the burger which was a little on the salty side and the fries that came with it were a bit stale. The host was very accommodating in that I was able to get seated before my reservation and the ensuing service was excellent. I do think they can try a little harder on the menu."
"This is one of the upscale restaurant in Seattle. I took my husband here for his birthday and it was memorable. The service and atmosphere is impeccable. The naval wall art was so intriguing and outside library was regal. As a vegetarian options were limited for me but still good. Appetizers were good and server surprised us with tiny birthday dessert platter."
"This is a landmark location that will provide a landmark experience. The George is not only an amazing place to go but it's a wonderful place to dine. Parking is gonna be tough as it is downtown Seattle. But it is well worth the time. The staff was friendly and professional. They made every action to make things special for our dinner. The food was top notch and so were the drinks. Celebrate here! Midas 5-stars for the atmosphere and quality of foods and drinks."
