Reviews of Fort Pitt Bridge
"4.5 stars. The Fort Pitt Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in Pittsburgh. This yellow, two-deck bridge was built several decades ago. It carries Interstate 376 over the Monongahela River to connect the southwestern suburbs with the city. Sometimes traffic can move slowly, and drivers might struggle with switching lanes. Nevertheless, I rate this bridge highly because of its Pittsburgh-yellow color and its beautiful views of the city skyline."
"An iconic bridge in Pittsburgh, Pa, USA. Crossing the Monongahela river. It connects the southern part of the city with the city center and the northern part of it. It is a part of interstate 376. The picture shows the bridge to the right, Pittsburgh city center in the middle and Fort Duquesne to the left"
"This steel double-decked bowstring-arch bridge carries Interstate 376 between downtown Pittsburgh and the Fort Pitt Tunnel. It opened in June 1959 and remains too narrow for the amount of traffic trying to cross it. Today, I was in a Pittsburgh city bus heading out of town and it was nearly hilarious watching our bus driver merging from the various on-ramps to get across the Monongahela River. He was only successful because people are scared of buses. Otherwise, I'd probably still be there! With a clearance over the river of 471 feet and a total length of 1207 feet, the bridge is impressively awesome considering that it is over sixty years old. It was an achievement for the time as the first computer-designed bridge in the world. The bridge is painted a bright yellow and there is no toll to cross it in either direction. I'm a fan."
"Has a narrow bike and pedestrian path. Great place to view the Three Rivers."
"This bridge is so beautiful at night, we walked some of the trail. Keep in mind if you walk the trail there is a fence blocking most of the view. (On the side w the tracks of course)"
