Reviews of Mt. Baker Ranger District
"Purchased a National Parks pass at this location. REI didn't have any didn't know when they would be in stock."
"Nice place, lots of written information about the area and maps. The Ranger was not very helpful, we were trying to figure out if we needed a Discover Pass or not. I'm not sure if he knew, to be honest. It depends, I guess, on exactly which property your are on. Very confusing, and left the Station more confused. I guess just buy one to be safe! Response from the owner 4 hours ago: We are always very clear about when a Discover Pass is needed. Discover Pass is for State owned properties only and we do not carry them because we are a Federal Agency. If you are clear about where you are going we can be clear about which pass is needed. Google doesn't tell me which properties are State, Federal, or even county. Bought a pass anyway, needed it in many places where we spent our hard earned tourist dollars. You could have information on State owned properties, even though you are not required to do so, then we would know, and that would HELP travellers from out of state. But that would require Federal and State Regulators to cooperate, and that will never happen."
"Call ahead before you drive over to ensure they are open."
"You must call ahead for correct information. Hours change seasonally and according to weather and staff availability. Google cannot keep up with changes to the schedule. Loads of great information!"
"Very helpful, stop in if you have questions for a ranger to help. Good selection of outdoor maps and books. Mandatory climbing registration too, so don't forget to let them know if you are on your way to climb in the national park!"
