Reviews
"Beautiful WPA-built visitor center with views of Mt Baker, conveniently located just steps from trails and the parking lot. The park rangers are knowledgeable and friendly (one even offered to take our picture by a scenic window!). There's also a bookstore/gift shop. There are picnic tables and benches nearby as well. We always make a point to stop at the visitor center when going to Mt Baker."
"Absolutely gorgeous drive up to Heather Meadows! There is a permit needed (fee area) at the Meadows. Spectacular views and picture taking opportunities on the way up and down from the Meadows. The Visitor center closed at 4pm, which was before we arrived-we definitely plan to return and explore more next time!"
"Visitor Center has exhibits and a gift shop. Friendly and very informative staff. Parking and restrooms are available. Running water was not available, so make sure to bring your own, especially if you're hiking. It's a launching point for some trails and the Center has incredible views."
"Cute little visitor center on Mt Baker Hwy. The road was closed to Artist point for cars but you can hike/walk up there. Fantastic views and some picnic tables make great lunch spots. The only complain I have is the restrooms were not well maintained. Considering the influx of visitors, this is a basic hygene requirement."
"Nice little visitor center with a gift shop and rangers on site to answer questions. They identified the bird we were hearing (strange sound like a frog!) as a blue grouse. When we were there on July 4, there was a fire in the fireplace. Awesome!"
