"My surgery went great. The doctor and staff were great. I do wish they would have been more understanding about my pain. Regardless of what the doctor said a double mastectomy dose hurt. Dr Dunham toldmemost wemen dont experienceany pain. I still have pain on one side 4 months later, I feel like there is no point going in to ask the doctor about the pain simply because she told me it would Not be a painful recovery. I was told that I would have some discomfort but most women don't experience any pain. Both of the surgeon's I had were wrong it hurt a great deal. I made They've very clear i would had all by my self. I was setting at the hospital exit waiting for my ride less than 5 hours after my surgery. The insurance okayed 2 night stay. I have ohp. I hope people who have private insurance are treated better. There are lots of items to help in the recovery, none where offered to me. U tube has been a great resource for finding out what I would need. Make sure you have plenty of ice for after your surgery. It sucked having to walk to the store 7 hours after surgery for ice sucks. All of the after care info should be given weeks in advance not at the hospital check out"
