"Experience with the STAFF has been AMAZING! Took 2 stars away for parking and VALET drivers are speeding like crazy out of this parking lot as I’m sitting here writing this review! This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this happened and I refuse to use Valet because of this reason. If you are using valet, be careful. Other than that, fred hutch staff has been awesome!"
"I'm absolutely in shock with how this nurse, or nurse consultant treated me. I had called against the will of my mother. And needed more information for myself. My mom wasn't seen here and from my knowledge wasn't referred. But when I called breaking apart, not knowing what to do. This, what I assume is a young nurse. Broke everything down, gave me ideas, just, helped with what I could give her. She suggest ideas to help my mom maybe convince getting treatment. Rather then dragging her to a clinic. Which I did joke about. I wish I caught her name but we sat for about 25 minutes talking and I can't tell you how precious that 25 minutes was. The concern, the passion, the gentleness of the situation. She just handled it and suggested ways to help my mom that. Again I'm in shock. I want to say thank you to the clinic for having her as a staff. And I want to thank the lady from the bottom of my heart. If we were in the same state. I'd drag my mom to this location. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
"My daughters boyfriend is supposedly getting treatment through this place. He had to find out his diagnosis online. It wasn't even told to him in person. They do treatments and explain nothing. They haven't explained anything about what they are doing even when asked about it. They haven't even offered any sort of counseling to help them deal with what is happening. I thought this place would be a lot more compassionate then it is. The boyfriend doesn't have any money and I believe that is a huge factor in how they are being treated. Very frustrating."
"We are trying to get access to a special test and drug for my parent who is unable to receive these in Canada. We are on a tight timeline and it’s been more than 3 weeks waiting for the information we desperately need. We thought this wood be a much faster process given the size and reputation this cancer center has. Unfortunately, this has not been the case."
"My hubs had his allo transplant here in June 2022.. It has been a rollercoaster but we always felt like we were being treated by the best in the world. Doctors took their time to explain things and helped identify the best choices . My only suggestions would be that all chairs in all waiting areas be recliners. Caregivers and patients are tired. Fred Hutch needs a more streamlined process for patients needing to go to the hospital that doesn’t involve the Emergency Department which almost always ended up with admission. We have had to go many times and it just is not conducive to a severely immune compromised patient to sit in a dilapidated waiting room at UWMC with Covid and Flu patients. Even a separate waiting area for cancer patients at UW would have made us feel safer. Most systems are well developed. We had a period of a few months when it was thought transplant had failed and we felt like we had fallen through the cracks. We are now in the TTC clinic and have received stellar care. Cancer and transplant is a long drawn out process. We are grateful and hopeful."
