"I placed my trust in Penney Tanner to help my son who has schizophrenia. Aside from misdiagnosing him I believe was out of laziness on her part as she was not following the criteria of diagnosing mental health, she treated him with medication‘s that were not effective And refused to try other medication‘s that I know now would’ve been helpful.She did not allow him time to talk about his symptoms, and how he was feeling Instead told him to stop behaving as he was and that his psychosis was not real. This led him to distrust Mental health providers, ultimately leading to him getting worse overtime and eventually taking his own life. Please do not trust your loved ones to this provider."

"Horrible experience, only seen her once and on that visit she showed up 20 minutes past my appointment time then finally when I got called back she told me that she was only available for 10 minutes (after I drove 35 minutes to get there and waited another 20 past my appointment time). As soon as I walked into her office she wasted no time unleashing her superiority upon me, insulting me, insulting a previous person that works there that I used to get care from, revealed to me that when the lady quit they lied and sent out a letter to everyone saying she moved to South Korea which wasn’t true and is laughing as she is telling me, didn’t know anything about mental health, argumentative, and probably the worst person to work in the field she is in. She is the one who needs to talk to someone, not the other way around.. wanna find out, book an appointment. -oh yeah after I told her I want coming back she has been trying to hit me with some fine for about two years and threatened to send it collections, still hasn’t happened."

"My boyfriend was going through a breakdown and needed his meds & she wouldn’t return his calls. The front desk lady was super rude to him & told him “penny tanner said she isn’t gonna see you as a patient anymore” without any given reason. DO NOT GO TO THIS LADY SHE DOESNT CARE ABOUT HER PATIENTS AT ALL. how does this place even stay open?"

"I rarely take the time to write reviews but Penny Tanner and her staff were so completely incompetent that I feel compelled to do so. I saw her for a year in which she never gave me an actual diagnosis but I was able to receive one from my new psychiatrist within two sessions. Adding to that complete failure, her office is trying to charge me $300 for an appointment they mistakenly cancelled and one which they claimed was a no-show that I had written to them the week before to cancel. After receiving the first notice of the fee, I emailed them to keep our correspondence in writing and it took them an entire week to email me back. Penny Tanner and her staff should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people, especially after seeing all the other reviews showing this a pattern of behavior and not a fluke."

"I and my family have been with Penny Tanner for over 10 years. We have always found her to be caring and understanding to what we need as a family and as individuals. Her office staff and environment are very kind, welcoming and helpful. Dr. Tanner does run a tight ship and expects us to keep our appointments which coincides with being accountable for our treatment and continued wellbeing. There was a time when I needed a medication change and she was more than willing to offer new options and work with me to find the right course of treatment."
