"We hired you for your expertise, knowledge and skill to tar and chip- expecting a cost effective option that would give us more traction on our stupidly short yet steep driveway. While we appreciated the effort tremendously, we expressed a safety concern about the layers and layers of loose stone still left, causing people to slip and trip and also be kicked up by passing cars. We asked what options there were to help. Instead of offering practical solutions, the crew leader grew defensive. He threw accusations about us trying to dupe the company for free work because “other people have tried to.” He apologized and did show up that same afternoon, but over complicated the whole thing and cried about it, “I feel attacked!” and “I regretted taking on this job!!” He proceeded to insult our intelligence since we “just can’t seem to understand” then comments that “Even the super rich guy on 228 isn’t getting his driveway swept until next year”. Implying that paid-in-full, working class Americans are far less deserving of this company’s additional time and resources. Regardless. What does super rich guy’s driveway have to do with my “working class” driveway? Different driveways. Different areas. Different slopes and therefore the circumstances will be different too. Even my feeble minded self understands that. Super bizarre, unprofessional and disappointing."
