"I’ll start off by saying, I’ve been going here for years without many problems. But recently, there have been terrible pharmacy staff. Most of them fool off in the back while a long line stretches into the nearby aisle. Once had a problem where they lied about the shipment of my medication, and it took over a week to receive it despite them constantly telling me it would be there the next day. When I finally got the medication, one of the ladies apologized for the actions of her co-workers, which shows that nobody behind the counter actually takes their job seriously."
"Twice in the last 2 weeks, for 2 different patients the staff has been excellent! CVS in South Lake Union took 5 days for one prescription and 2 days for 2 other prescriptions. All 3 were for different family members. The staff at CVS terrible. I called to transfer 2 different prescriptions to “Safeway SmilesL “ pharmacy and the assistants were ore than amazing. “K…” was so helpful as was the girl last week."
"I read the negative reviews for this Safeway pharmacy and having them be our go-to for decades I agree with most of them. That said, it wasn't the staff's fault. I'm not sure why Safeway hates its pharmacist as much as they do, but I would add the now have the staff to handle the demands. This is a huge turnaround. I actually considered as some of the other posters filing a formal complaint because I was unable to get a hold of them (while I was out of town) for several days. When I finally spoke to somebody they made it seem like getting emergency refill release was no big deal. Ouch. I would recommend them now and I just hope we don't go back to what was the worst 18 months of pharmacy service you could ever describe."
"I have been using this pharmacy for five years, and will be switching to somewhere else this month. For years I was extremely happy with this pharmacy, with their kind and thoughtful staff. They were professional, reliable, and communicative. About ten months ago, most or all the staff turned over, and it has been a huge fall from grace. Wait lines are consistently 15+ minutes, it's impossible to get a human on the phone, and I have even had prescriptions cancelled without notice or reason provided. I live basically next door, and even that convenience can't outweigh the issues this pharmacy has right now. I hope they figure it out and get back to the standard that I experienced for so long."
"This pharmacy used to be incredibly reliable, with kind AND gender-affirming staff. I used to frequently refer people here, especially those who needed reliable and understanding providers. No idea what happened, but it seems they removed the entire staff within a day and replaced them with folks who are not prepared to deal with such demand. I’m OK with long wait times. The pharmacists are under a lot of pressure, I understand. It’s likely not their fault, and I would love to hear from management about this change of staff. But I have now had 3+ interactions where I have been ignored, not listened to, or sent notifications that my prescription is ready when it is FAR from ready. They either turn the phone off or, even better, pick up and then hang up immediately! (The only good option is to call the Safeway customer service, and ask them to set up a call-back with the pharmacy) As someone said before, this is dangerous, not to mention disappointing that they removed some of the only trans-competent providers in the area. If anyone knows where the old staff transferred to, let me know! I’ll be transferring ASAP."
