Reviews of Watson Hill by Ashton Woods
"My wife and I choose the community because of the location between Summerville and West Ashley pretty much in the middle of everything 20 minutes from downtown. The community is beautiful with so many modern upscale designs. Makenzie Pillion at the model home sales office is the best :-)"
"Beware, after visiting several builders looking for my forever home, I decided to visit the model homes in Watson Hill subdivision and we decided to purchase a home. As an experience home owner I asked all the questions and got all the answers except when I asked for the tax rates the Sales Agent told me that she did not know and suggested I ask the loan officer that works for their preferred lender Velocio Mortagage and they encourage you to call and apply for the incentive of $10k toward closing that is not really a credit when they apply hidden fees, Of coarse the lot we wanted was not available on that Sunday but it was the following day on Monday and we rushed to sign the contract and pay the NON refundable earnest deposit of $5,675 ,2 days later I was able to speak to the loan officer that was suggested and he then advise me that Watson Hill is located in tax district 208. The taxes are double and the highest in Summerville, SC and he stated that many buyers have been surprised and discouraged so of coarse the Sales agent was well aware and she purposely withheld that information from me to make sure I would not walk away . When I asked if i could get my money back to avoid being house broke, I was told that it is my responsibility to know what the tax rate is. How would a buyer be aware of this information if the sales agent is not providing this and they did not return my money. In the meantime Lennar, Mungo and Crescent actually provide this information in their welcome brochures, so clearly they are purposely wit holding the information. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BUILDER THEY TRULY DO NOT CARE"
"Nothing but positive things to say about our experience buying in Watson Hill. Leigh was so helpful and informative. She was very enthusiastic and willing to walk us through multiple properties despite the heat. Caleb also deserves a shout-out because he has gone above and beyond to make sure our new home is in tippy top shape. He has continued to follow up with us after our closing. Stellar team working for this company and the homes are gorgeous!"
"They left very little trees and natural areas. This development is part of the reason we are moving away. They are impacting a historical road and part of the reason we moved to west ashley from another area in Charleston. The way they treated the easement was horrible in my opinion. Just another type 1 developer/builder. This and long savanna are causing a lot of headache."
"Everyone's got to live somewhere, but the traffic that comes along with a population rise. Road infrastructure hasn't been mentioned but construction roads pull directly off Hwy. 61. Anyone that drives this stretch of 61 to and from work knows how quickly it can turn into a parking lot. Just a little heads up for safety there have been at least 3 separate wrecks I've seen the past month that seem to occur in the area. Hazmat was called out on one to contain spillage from the wreck. Not sure how public that was made with no news or newspaper covering it. Like I said pay attention to other drivers, and be careful out there."
