Reviews of Bug & Reptile Museum
"Thought this was a cool place to stop by as we were passing by. I was soo sad to see myrtle. She doesn't have the space to swim. I can't tell when reptiles are stressed they all seemed to be in good condition basically sleeping. I donated hoping that it will go to improving their enclosures."
"Definitely a must see with kids 10 and under. Free. You can donate on your way out if you want to. Spent about an hour here because we came with a nature-intrigued kiddo. Great education. Fun place. Built-in activities."
"This was a very cool collection of reptiles and bugs however the envlosures for both the painted turtles and murtle the turtle where very small and DIRTY. My dad would have spanked me if id let any of my pets cages get that dirty when i was a kid. Murtle nedds a tank 3 or 4 times what she has. The space she is currently in is already good enough to buil a tank the proper size so im not sure why her tank is so small. The bugs were super cool to see and the only cages that seemed extreamly clean."
"This is a pretty small place, so it's a quick walk through... yes, totally free! And no heavy donation pressure. Yes, we dropped some change in the little shop; the shop has a few interesting items that you won't find just anywhere - full butterfly hatching/growing kits, for example. Great stuff for animal interested kids. I cannot comment on the quality of animal care... Myrtle the turtle was very fun to watch, but her tank does look too small for her. All other animals looked well cared for and happy, to me. Many, many varieties of snakes and lizards... tarantulas and some gorgeous, fascinating mounted (dead) bugs to look at. They have a little "scavenger hunt" for the kids, with a free prize at the end. Our whole family was very delighted with our visit."
"Fun place to stop. Takes about 30-45 min to really see it all. Colorful displays. Well maintained habitats with healthy animals inside. Very knowledgeable staff and a tiny gift shop. Make sure to check out the quick scavenger hunt for the littles."
