Reviews of Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site
"A beautiful 1832 plantation House preserve as a state park. Enjoy a walk on the grounds with the gardens or a beautiful walk through the forest down to the river."
"Took the trail loop, which had informative signs and witness trees and the ruins of a slave's quarters. Then took a guided tour of the Gist Mansion. Very interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed it!"
"Gorgeous place for a day trip. Pack a picnic and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. There is a garden and forested walking path. You can tour the house in which the history is a bit of a mystery. The architecture of the interior was gorgeous, and the house was well cared for (as well as a 200 year old mansion could be)."
"A hidden gem in the woods! If you get a chance to visit this state park it'll be worth it. They do a tour of the old mansion and the grounds are well kept. There isn't much for children to do but if you love history and enjoy a picnic out in a beautiful place this is it."
"Would love to come back and get a tour of the beautiful mansion. We didn't do much here as we only stopped by on the way home, but we did walk around the plantation a bit and it was very nice. I wish it was visited more - they have a lot of potential but need some funding."
