"Terrible Stay! I arrived from Vermont in my hiking attire, exhausted, having driven for 6 hours. My husband dropped me off to go return the rent a car. Clearly, I was not dressed to fit in the hotel. I got a very bad reception compared to the two people in front of me who were checking in. I have traveled the world and have stayed at some of the most exclusive hotels. This was the worse experience. The lady at the front desk did not say hello, nor did she make eye contact. The reservation was under my husband’s name, and I have kept my maiden name for professional reasons. I presented her with my drivers license, and his credit card, based on her interrogation of me, she thought the credit card was stolen. She kept asking me security questions about the reservation record. I explained to her that my husband went to return the rent a car. She took my ID, my credit card, and left to go to the back for 20 minutes without telling me anything. I got very upset, and after 20 minutes, Kristina, the front desk manager finally came out. She was also unable to manage the situation. I called my travel services, and they were shocked that they would not check me in because my name is also on the account. To make matters worse, after finally getting in to our room, we get a call from the General manger, Mr. Carlos Buenos saying, “ we need you to come downstairs right away, and we like to find you a different hotel”. We were shocked! To even suggest such a thing, is appalling! When we meet him, he was very upset and confrontational. He said, “ in my 5 years here, we have never had an incident with my team, and you raised your voice at them.” I guess, he has not read the hotel reviews. Although, I appreciate him wanting to be supportive of his staff, it is as important to take care of his guests. I have never meet a GM that did not try to turn a bad situation around. I was treated very badly. I was there during Boston Marathon weekend for less than 48 hrs. The only person that helped de-escalate the situation was Mr. Reda Ibrahim, the Director of international sales, that was sitting during our conversation with Mr. Bueno. He was calm, professional, and empathetic toward the situation. I got very sick from the amount of stress they inflicted on me and they ruined my two days stay. I hope the principals of the hotel see this. This is no way to conduct business, and it was poor judgment on their part. There are many incredible hotels that will treat you better in the area. Go somewhere else."
