Reviews of SUNNY SKY COUNSELING
"My brother and I participated in a group therapy session here at the request of a mutual relation. We initially declined to go because we suspected our mutual relation, we'll call them X, wanted to use the group session to bash another mutual relation of ours, we'll call them Y. We only decided to go after speaking to X's therapist, who assured us the session would have nothing to do with Y, and in fact would be about something else. I won't mention what the 'something else' was, but the given reason was something that encouraged my brother and I to change our minds and go. Fast forward to the group session -- not only did it begin with X bashing Y, but with X making false and outrageous accusations. In addition, the given reason for the session was never brought up. Precisely the opposite of what we were told happened. We were lied to in order to get us there. X's therapist was an intern so her supervisor was present . He is also the owner, Chad Ernest. He did not introduce himself at any point during the session and had a smug attitude from the get-go. He attempted to browbeat my brother and I into believing X even though he knew far too little about X’s history with truth. I emailed Zara, X’s therapist, multiple times afterwards to ask her why we were lied to about the reason for the session and she never responded. The whole thing was a clown show and I would not recommend this place. P.S. It looks like one of the first positive reviews of this place was written by the owner, Chad Ernest (C. Ernest), himself."
"The owner reviewed himself..Narcissism, ego, and manipulation isn't a good look for someone who is supposed to be helping with mental health. He and his colleague lied in order to get my brother and I into a group session. Deceptive and inconsiderate. Not to mention the part they've played in damaging a family with their lazy and unethical practices. If you're trying to heal, do not subject yourself to their methods. People like this should not be in a position to collect money for mental health services EDIT: since my review they have clearly called upon others to counter with positive reviews. So much to the point that one of those reviews refers to us as "Karens" not accepting the "truth". This clearly shows he has shared private information otherwise what "truth" could they be aware of us not accepting. Add the the list of unethical practices, need I say more..."
"I’m a long time client of Sunny Sky and have been dealing with the death of my father, ADHD, and alcoholism and getting therapy there changed my life. They helped me with the grief process, heal childhood trauma, and I am now 2 years sobers and about to get married (which I never thought would be possible). Chad is direct, honest, empathetic, and very skilled at what he does. His EMDR methods helped a lot. I do feel sorry for the therapists who constantly have to deal with narcissists and sociopaths who have nothing better to do with their time than complain like “Karens” online."
"My wife has suffered for years with PTSD from sexual & emotional abuse in her childhood and first marriage. Zara has helped her immensely. She was essentially shut in & wouldn't leave the house without me. Now, she is calm, confident, can talk about her past abuse without panicking, and can now comfortably drive herself where she wishes. I see her experiencing the greatest quality of life since we met in 1991."
"What an amazing place. Chad is a great counselor able to work with families and individuals on a wide range of mental health services! I highly recommend him if you are in need if a therapist!"
