"Such a grogeous historic garden with pretty landscape, greenhouse, and so many colorful flowers. I wish I'd broiught a book to read on one of the benches. Great place for gardeners to go study the varieties and design of the flower beds."
"Peaceful and beautiful gardens. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I was able to spend time walking around the vegetable gardens and flower gardens."
"Breathtaking. I admit when I first went to Fort Ticonderoga, I wasn’t very excited. But Kings Garden is just amazing. Well designed, huge color palette. I noticed things this time I didn’t see before, like the rainbow garden. I will attach my 1000 pictures to show you what I mean."
"Beautiful area. Gardens have been part of Ticonderoga’s history for centuries. French, British and American armies found nourishment in the vegetables grown in the fertile gardens located below the fort walls along the shores of Lake Champlain. In the 19th and 20th century, the lush and historic landscape transformed into a unique private country American estate. Museum founders celebrated Ticonderoga’s defining Colonial and Revolutionary history while adding new gardens and orchards to the landscape. Today visitors to the 6-acre King’s Garden explore centuries of garden history, savor the fragrant heritage flowers, and discover how Fort Ticonderoga cultivates its gardens today to feature its incredible history and create curated culinary experiences and sustainable agricultural practices."
"This had been the private garden of the family which acquired the site of Fort Ticonderoga and eventually restored the fort for heritage tourism. Their garden’s flora was painstakingly sourced from North America and Europe. Exterior walls are brickface, and there is intriguing statuary. Trees line the main entrance. There is a gazebo at the lakefront."
