"I wanted to leave this review because I know some of you reading this are looking for the right therapist for you. I hope my story will help you but I had never seen a therapist in my life till one day trauma and grievance happened to me and with an open mind I decided to get help which I'm so happy I did because I didn't know what to think but to try it out. I was a patient with Irene for over a year for therapy. Through all the months of getting help, I found closure and feel a lot better. Irene is genuine and very good at her job. I can see how passionate she is in her field. I've learned about myself a lot and how to cope with things. One of the best things ever in my life was seeing therapy even though I was unsure what to think. I encourage you all with an open mind and make an appointment here. Irene will always be one of the most important influences in my life and will always appreciate all the help she's done for me through my journey. Thank you Irene very much and I will never forget you. I will definitely come back here if I ever need help again. So don't hesitate and schedule an appointment with an open mind."
"First and only experience with mental health services, but this was a really good one. I began talk therapy with one of the providers for a traumatic event. She suggested we try EMDR which is a very interesting type of therapy I had no idea existed. It took 6 sessions of that but my ptsd symptoms basically vanished. I stuck around with the same provider for continuing talk therapy for over a year for help with many tings in life. They were very helpful. Logistically, my therapist has been very flexible when it coems to canceling a week here and there, rescheduilg to a different day when something comes up, etc. I even took a 5 month break, until I wanted to restart. She was able to get me to the front of her wait list and we restarted regular sessions within a few weeks. I had a very positive experience here. (All virtual sessions save the EMDR)"
"Dr. May is an excellent therapist who came highly recommended by my previous therapist. I have no problem recommending Blue Leaf to others and have been thankful I reached out."
"I was experiencing some serious grieving of the loss of my mother, while juggling several other life changes plus Covid in the midst of everything; I knew I needed some professional help to keep my mental wellness in a healthier place. For the better part of a year I looked forward to weekly video chats with Irene at Blue Leaf Wellness Center. Today I am happy yet also sad as I was “graduated”. I worked through my challenges good and not so good, came to terms with some physical mobility challenges, learned tools to set and keep boundaries and deal with some relationship challenges, worked through a few stages of grieving, managed to avoid Covid and said “so long” to Irene-my therapist and someone I can honestly say became a trusted friend. She was so insightful and really listened to me. She asked all the pertinent questions, gave me homework most weeks which implemented new communication tools I will be using the rest of my life. I feel so indebted for the help Irene provided to me. She really got me. I feel like she brought me back into the light, into a new era of my life. I couldn’t be happier or more blessed than I am right now. I am so thankful for the few phone calls I made resulting in the referral to Blue Leaf, and that they were able to get me right into a regular weekly schedule. Irene was always there, always on time, always with a smile and listening ear. Irene was well prepared, took great notes, suggested excellent homework challenges and our sessions were always professionally organized. I would highly recommend Irene and the Wellness Center. I will miss my weekly conversations but I promised to stay in touch and call back if I felt the need to continue with working on any life hurdles I feel I might need help with in the future. I will smile whenever I think about Irene or hear about Blue Leaf Wellness Center. They sure were good to me."
"I contacted this organization upon referral from another psychologist who was not able to accept new patients. I had a conversation by email with Dr. Tara May. I indicated to her multiple times that my wife needed an appointment as soon as possible, and that I would like one as well, as a secondary concern. My wife never received an appointment, but I was assigned to one. The weekend before my scheduled appointment I was told that my appointment was canceled due to not filling out their (unnecessarily long) intake paperwork. I told Dr. May I had not filled it out yet as we were still waiting on an appointment for my wife. She agreed that my wife could take my appointment instead, but that we had to fill out the paperwork that day or it would be canceled. We filled out the paperwork as requested. On the morning of the appointment, we received an email indicating her appointment was canceled due to the therapist (which was selected by this organization with knowledge of our insurance provider) not being in network for our insurance. We later received communication indicating my wife was now assigned to a new therapist and that she would reach out to schedule an appointment. After emailing with this new therapist, she indicated she was full and unable to set an appointment. She referred us to the website and said we could fill out a form to be added to a wait list. This organization has put my wife in tears on multiple occasions and has provided absolutely no help. Throughout this process nobody has been helpful, courteous, or kind. The communication has been curt, cold, unempathetic, and business-oriented. I am shocked this organization is capable of working with anyone suffering from mental health issues. I would recommend everyone stay far away from this place. You are likely able to get better help for your mental health by doing nothing at all. My wife, for one, has had her mental health worsened by this organization."
