Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

About the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
The Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, located at 1037 Southwest Broadway in Portland, Oregon, is a historic venue known for its stunning Italian Rococo Revival architecture. Originally built in 1928 as the Portland Public Theatre and later renamed the Paramount Theatre, the venue has been beautifully restored thanks to a generous donation from Arlene and Harold Schnitzer.
As one of the last surviving theater venues on Broadway, the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall continues to host a wide variety of performances, including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk, and gospel music, as well as dance, theatre, travel films, conferences, and weddings. It is a hub for cultural events and entertainment in Portland.
The Concert Hall is also home to literary events, such as Everybody Reads with author Gabrielle Zevin, and performances by renowned organizations like the Oregon Symphony and White Bird. From classical concerts to rock band tributes, there is something for everyone at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
As the venue prepares to welcome back audiences for live events, strict protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention will be in place to ensure the safety of patrons, artists, and staff. Visitors can sign up to receive updates on upcoming events, special offers, and discounts, and are encouraged to check entry requirements for each performance.
Experience the magic of live performances at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Portland's arts scene.

Reviews of Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
"Pre-purchase your tickets, and one more time for the people in the back…PRE-PURCHASE your tickets!! I can’t say that enough because our wait to get into the Princess Bride event we attended on a Friday night was literally nothing!!! And hey, that’s my absolute favorite amount of time to wait for things! Hahaha! Everyone else was lined up around the block, and I can’t even express how amazing it feels strutting past the line to sashay right in like you own the place, lol! We had upper balcony tickets, but as you can see from the pics, our view was still spectacular! The sound quality was also perfect! I also enjoyed all of the beautiful artwork and light fixtures adorning the concert hall! Just gorgeous! You can’t help but feel high brow whilst in this exquisite venue! The only suggestion I would make is to streamline the pre-drink purchasing situation…that was a bit confusing and chaotic…other than that though…highly recommend!"
"This is the second film we've gone to see, with the Oregon Symphony playing the music! Tonight was Jurassic Park! It was such a wonderful production! Can not wait to go back again! Well worth seeing a movie if you can!"
"Loved this place! We went and saw Toy Story in Concert, part of what they call their "popcorn" series. The Oregon Symphony played all the music for the movie and it was amazing! The concert hall is absolutely gorgeous! We were able to park right across the street from the entrance in a parking garage, it cost us $7 to park."
"I used to go for concerts pretty frequently, and I don't think I ever let myself slow down and enjoy the theater as if I were a tourist. I did exactly that this time, and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Such a beautiful place and everyone who works there is so kind and friendly."
"I'm not a fan of Poetland so was apprehensive about going to see Manheim Steamroller here this month. The area was okay as the town was also lighting the Christmas tree so lots of people out going and leaving concert. The acoustics were okay but the visuals were old. Since it was our first time at the theater, we were not sure if it was venue or the Manheim Steamroller presentation but it was terrible. Beautiful building and friendly staff."
