"I Love history and this backcountry settlement is a perfect piece of great conservation, to preserve a lifestyle and heritage of the pioneers. This settlement is a window to the past. This past April 14 and April 15 of 2023 there was a Revolutionary war open house for the Culbertson Backcountry settlement with collaboration from the Laurens county museum and the Gray court and Owings historical society, this was the first chance I have to experience the history of the building and actually was able to go inside and see all the historical items and how was the daily life in the frontier in those days."
