"The house known as Tullyton or also referred to as The Bolling-Stewart House was built in 1839 for Thaddeus Bolling. In 1859 Fairview Presbyterian Church minister Clark Stewart purchased the house. The property remained in the Stewart family for over eighty years. The ruins from an even older house built in 1821 are on the same property. That house was originally owned by postmaster Tully F Sullivan and was also used as a local post office at the time. While the house is on private property, there are several markers in a small clearing on the side of the road at the gated entrance. The house itself is mostly hidden behind trees and an iron fence with a limited view. Three different markers and a National Register of Historical Places plaque announce the landmark from the road but, a fence and shrubbery hide it. It's kind of odd, but understandable being a private home. Maybe a historical landmark's version of a humblebrag?"
