Reviews
"I am incredibly thankful to have found Shuree. I came to her wanting to address specific pain points but through her sessions, I unveiled deeper personal and familial issues that hadn’t been brought to light with previous providers. I appreciate Shuree’s comforting yet straightforward approach."
"I feel remiss that I haven't reviewed Ms, Waggoner before now. I brought my daughter to her after two references from individuals I highly respect. I don't want to go into my daughters condition and issues, it's not my place to go into detail, but I had previously sought help from three other therapists, one who was suppose to be a specialist in her most prevalent issue. Unfortunately after about three months we had to move on as the specialty therapist and my daughter just did not bond. After about four sessions Ms. Waggoner was able to establish a relationship with my daughter and FINALLY able to break through the wall she had built up over the previous year and a half of searching for someone to help her. My daughter has a completely different outlook on life and is thriving well beyond what I had ever hoped for. I would HIGHLY recommend Ms. Waggoner for any issues that a girl or young woman would faces today. I couldn't he happier!"
"if you have a trauma history or disabilities, I would definitely look for a different therapy provider! when I met this counselor I had a very hurtful and invalidating experience, as she unempathetically insinuated that my real, diagnosed physical and mental disabilities/disorders are not valid reasons to experience struggles in life. this is an example of ableism. it took me a noteworthy amount of time to recover from how triggering and hurtful the session was. she also said other hurtful things in session, such as accusing me of being dramatic and offensive when I took a deep breath in an attempt to regulate my emotions, when I was feeling very upset and triggered. she was not very open to hearing me out when I tried to explain how I felt or why, or when I tried to provide answers to the questions she was asking me, and interrupted me a lot. I did not feel like she was interested in helping me at all, rather I felt judged and ostracized. sadly this is not my first review-- the provider spammed replies to my original review repeatedly over a period of several weeks, apparently unable to let it go or accept and grow from constructive criticism. she deleted/reposted/changed what her review said multiple times after I initially responded to it once, wishing to move on from this. some of her responses included details from our session, which is a HIPAA violation! and the moderators agreed and removed it; professionals have advised me to report it to the state board, and I have the receipts if it's needed. none of her responses were understanding, apologetic, empathetic, or welcoming of genuinely constructive communication to resolve the issue; rather the replies were dripping with venom, accusations, gaslighting, blatant falsehoods, inconsistency, contradictions, proclamations of their greatness, and insults targeted at accusing me of being a bad person or having ill intentions. is that the way a person behaves whose career is supposed to be focused on healing people? I am posting this final review because of her attempts to intimidate me by questioning my identity, which I am cautious with not because of honest reviews, but because I have ptsd and have avoided being traceable online by my abuser for years. I'm frankly appalled at what this person said, and offended by how she assumed that my online identity revolves around a review I left about them, and claimed to somehow know what my intentions were in posting. I felt she was trying to bully me into removing my post, and I shudder to think of what it would be like to try to bring up a miscommunication with her directly instead of via a review, given that kind of response. if she had been more understanding and kind, I may have reached out to her, but I certainly don't feel it's safe to do so now, nor do I wish to spend any more of my time on this exchange. additionally, the provider exposed herself as someone who picks sides and favors only one client in a group session-- the one who is writing the check. this is not an example of a mediator who has equal empathy for others as individual human beings, but of a person whose bias can be bought, and is okay with speaking harmfully to one person in the name of defending the other. this has the potential to be extremely harmful to people who are survivors of abuse, or who are currently involved in abusive situations, so please be careful. I wish to help other survivors in the future who are looking for help, to avoid experiencing hurtful things like I did, and I hope to provide this therapist with feedback which can help her relate to people they work with in a more constructive way, and hopefully not repeat the same types of harmful words and behaviors. perhaps then, she can earn some genuine positive reviews-- this was just my honest experience."
"I have been seeing Shuree for a little over a year now, when i first came to see her I was in desperate need of someone I could be completely transparent with. My anxiety was controlling my life and my PTSD was starting to ruin every relationship i had, most importantly the one with myself. The hardest part of counseling is finding the right one for you, Instead of dreading an appointment to talk all about your problems I look forward to seeing her and catching up, she's made me feel comfortable enough in my own skin and able to except myself and issues as well as working me threw them. I can drive now without panic attacks, I can talk without disassociating, I sleep ALL night, I've walked away from toxic relationships. Having a counselor that not only matches your emotions, making you comfortable expressing them but also shows you tough love when you need to snap back into reality is seriously so refreshing and I absolutely believe I wouldn't be in the place I am if it wasn't for her. I strongly, strongly reccomend Shuree and I will continue becoming the best version of myself with her help."
