Greenville Textile Heritage Park

"I absolutely love this park! It's always quick and serene here. This is close to me right now and I go here as a good place to just unwind or relax. Had some benches to sit on and a play center for kids to place. There are monuments for all the different mills in the area. It really surprised me that it was so quiet with her being in seemed to be such a busy location but this park is surprisingly great. It's clean and just a really nice place to go to unwind for a few. I think they did a really good job with this place. There's trash cans and benches, it's paved and bricked to walk in. There is no shelter for rain/ sun however but there are a few trees that are strategically good places to keep shade and have a little shelter from lite rain however. People come there and walk there dogs as well. A must see if you are around. ... It's nothing fancy mind you... But a really nice place to just relax after a long day. *This place has no restrooms though"

"I haven’t visited the Park yet.. I worked all my life in a mill. I started out at the age of 16 at the Big Woodside mill down below Parker High School. I went to Parker… but quit to go to work in the mill with the rest of my family.. My father was a Loom fixer on the third shift along with my sister ( a weaver) my brother ( a tie end machine operator)… I was a spinner on the second shift.. my Mom ( weaver, battery filler) and another brother ( spinning doffer.. Warp and Filling). I’ve worked at many mills.. the last one was .. the Estes Plant.. then I went into retail pharmacy. I’ve always loved the Mill.. I miss them."
