Reviews of AMC CLASSIC Mill Plain 8
"One word fits well here, and that is ‘disgusting.’ This theater needs a serious upgrade, as the seats are well beyond worn, and some are not even bolted down. I happened to have a seat that was not fastened to the ground, so every time I got up, I had to hold it to keep it from falling over. I had to reach behind the chair to pick up a dropped bottle and ended up leaving it on the ground, as it had years of dirt and sticky mess all over it. It’s one thing to have worn, uncomfortable chairs, but it’s on another level entirely when the employees refuse to clean the theater, so you have to shower when you get home. It’s so sad that your first thought upon leaving this theater is not about the movie itself, but whether or not you need to get a tetanus shot. Clearly, this theater does not have a reasonable budget in place to maintain a safe, clean environment. However, a simple mop bucket and cleaner would at least get rid of the sticky mess and stench that slaps you in the face as soon as you arrive. I believe it’s safe to assume this theater won’t be around much longer, which is a shame, as the location is ideal. This could be a great theater if they invested some time and money, but no amount of money will change the fact that the majority of the current employees have no pride in what they do."
"I was a little appalled at the cleanliness of this place. For a somewhat pleasing outer and inner appearance, the mold smell throughout the whole place, as well as the run down, weathered, and dirty chairs were startling. Considering this location is priced the same as newer, cleaner locations, either an update or a significant decrease in pricing is clearly warranted. The $7.60 regular soda, and $9 medium popcorn were really the cherry on top. *Staff was great"
"AMC Classic Mill Plain 8, the haven where cinematic dreams come to life! Entering the theater was like stepping into a portal of excitement, with the promise of "The Marvels" unfolding before us. The popcorn, a crunchy overture to the visual symphony about to grace the screen, added a layer of anticipation. As the lights dimmed, our family settled into a shared adventure, each soda sip a communal toast to the cinematic journey ahead. The movie magic enveloped us, and for those couple of hours, we were transported to a realm where superheroes soared and narratives unfolded with the grandeur only the big screen can offer. Yet, beyond the film, it was the shared experience that made AMC Classic Mill Plain 8 special. Laughter echoed, gasps were synchronized, and our collective awe became the soundtrack of the evening. The theater served not only as a backdrop for "The Marvels" but as a canvas for creating lasting family memories. AMC, you didn't just show a movie; you crafted an immersive escape, reminding us that sometimes, the real magic happens in shared moments at the movies."
"Very worn out seating, dirty, and the lights did not turn off during the movie. It was disappointing. I will say the staff was nice and tickets were on the cheaper side, but I’d rather pay more for a better theater experience. We would not recommend this location."
"First time here and definitely won’t be my last. It was a nice smaller theater. Had the normal AMC food to offer. I do wish prices were cheaper for food and drinks. The seats were comfortable but they didn’t recline back as far as other AMC theaters. Wasn’t the most up to date theater but had that older movie theater vibe going on. Also on a Monday there was no one there so you pretty much get the rooms to yourself. Enjoy!"
