"Had to switch to Safeway pharmacy in my network with new drug prescription plan and when they set up my account they never mentioned they were going to have inventory issues with my medication. The first month they said when they couldn't fill my prescriptions on time, they said it shouldn't happen again. I come to find out the truth that they are only allowed a maximum of a specific drug and once they hit that they can't fill any more prescriptions. Had I known there was going to be an issue every month even to the point of not having my prescriptions filled until 4 weeks late, I would have never ever chosen safeway. They can't even basic prescriptions. They tell me to have to get ahold of my doctor instead of them getting a hold of him, they say they're electronic system is down and to contact my doctor once again to fax the prescription instead. I received no apology just excuses or empathy that I have several painful conditions I suffer from and will suffer from more pain and physical withdrawal from not having my prescriptions filled. I was told that they set up the system for me as if I should be grateful! For what point? For me not to get my most important medications. I went from being an athlete to becoming disabled. I did not want this for myself. This is about quality of life and I am beyond angry! I will be switching from Safeway Pharmacy as soon as I'm able."
"I have been going to the Safeway Mcwilliams Rd for many years. The only reason why I keep going back is because the staff is wonderful. They care very much about their people. Thank you so much Safeway Pharmacy. also, when I went to Arizona years ago, I ran out of a very important prescription, so Safeway in Arizona called Mcwilliams Safeway Pharmacy, and within an hour I had my prescription!!"
"I have very strong concerns about this pharmacy they mess up my meds so often I had to go up management, strange thing is I've never complained about any place before and if it was my water pills the only thing they mess up. They are very vital to my day to day going 8 days without it and a trip to hospital is ridiculous"
"Holy cow the wait is long, and no communication whatsoever. Over a half hour wait for a scheduled vaccine appointment. Not so much as a "we'll be right with you". That said, the staff was friendly when interacting with customers."
"If you enjoy waiting in line, and being treated like a number, then this is the pharmacy for you. Seriously, why does anyone use Safeway pharmacy? They're the absolute worst. There's nothing like bumping into someone you know, while you're picking up your diarrhea medicine or whatever. I needed glucose tablets last week, because my blood sugar was dropping while I was getting food, and they didn't even have them. Glucose tablets are pretty friggin important, and if you need them, it's not something that you can go without. They keep them behind the counter, too, which is ridiculous. I guess they were getting stolen a lot, but whoever was stealing glucose tablets must have really needed them, too. It's not like some luxury item or something. If you're hypoglycemic, glucose tablets are absolutely essential to have with you at all times. Having a sudden drop in blood sugar is really scary, especially if you're in public by yourself. I had to stand there in the isle of the grocery store chugging orange juice, shaking and disoriented, hoping that I wasn't going to fall over. The scariest thing is, if it did get that bad that I passed out, people would probably just assume I was on drugs or something and call law enforcement instead of an ambulance. All because the pharmacy didn't have glucose tablets in stock. I wish I could give a lower rating than 1 star."
