"Staff are rude, may have training issues regarding management. They seem to be very monetary-focused rather than actually caring about their residents. They don't try to be helpful and seem to look for ways to do the least amount of work. Initially they seem very nice and eager but when they realize that they can't get what they want from you, their demeanor completely changes. I would be concerned that they put up a nice front when I am around but are different around my loved ones. My interactions with the staff left a bad taste in my mouth. I would never put any of my loved ones in this community."

"I have my hair done by Carol's Design Studios. She does such a good job. All the seniors who go to Carol are so pleased. Try Carol's Designs. You do not have to live in Retirement Center. I don't. The Beauty Parlor is 2 chair, peaceful & beautiful."

"This is a relatively safe community of over 100 units though recently a police officer was shot and killed two blocks away. The manager was recently changed and some of the residents have told me she is less accessible as she leaves much earlier. There is a "dining area" where one can purchase relatively inexpensive dinners, but the cook recently changed as well and GG really praises him on their FB site. There are some activities...this is an Active living apt, not a nursing home. One issue which makes me raise an eyebrow is the inconsistent price hikes in rent which continuously are going up. One resident had a rental hike of almost $100 while another only was raised $60...yet the final amount was not the same. I brought this up to mgmt but the subject was immediately changed and I really got the cold shoulder after this. I do see all new couches and furniture in the entry, but the furniture which was replaced looked pretty good too. If they raise the rents on over 100 units by $100, that's $10,000!. I know this is Pierce county, but have operating costs gone up so much? Many of these residents are on fixed incomes which do not keep pace, even with the rise in inflation. This inconsistent application of rising rental amounts gives me pause for the reasons, methods, and their consideration of the clients they advertise to (elderly). I'll keep an eye out and keep everyone posted....."
