"Avala is such an incredible beautiful building. You could tell the builder really put their efforts into this place. Even though it’s a studio it’s very spacious, you could tell everything was thought out and built for comfort. I’m really happy with this building, would definitely recommend."
"Wow, where to start with this place. I'll be nice and start with the positives! It has a dishwasher, washer and dryer. Floors 5th and up has A/C, all units have heating. The view from the rooftop is spectacular and I enjoy chilling there in the early mornings. It's in walking distance of a few grocery stores, and only a 15-20 min bus ride from downtown Seattle. It's very quiet area and the area seems very pet and family friendly. Despite being a studio, it's very room-y. Now on to everything else; First and foremost, the leasing company, Peak Living, is incompetent and despite handling many residences acts as if this is the first time they've ever managed a property. It took them and their former leasing agent, Courtney, WEEKS to get me my keys when I moved in, until I randomly found them stuffed in my door one day after work. They are impossible to contact and they and their former agent Courtney, never answer any phone calls. Good luck! Hopefully the new person they placed in charge can at least answer a phone. Their online hub is somehow even worse! Supposedly, my utilities are supposed to show up along with rent in the payment area. I did not get a single utility until now, and they were from October, making them incredibly late! I'm no surprised if they tacked on some random late fee but I'll never know because it's impossible to view a breakdown of your charges. I've been emailing them for months about this but I guess it just wasn't a priority. Also, the limited parking is killer and I've seen so many people's car towed, including my own. I normally never review apartments, because I fear retaliation, but the last time someone publicly complained, it somewhat improved so here it goes."
"This is the nicest apartment I've seen so far, it's not your regular next door on a budget building. It's on a very lively street walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops, and the bus stop is right there, which is nice. Limited parking, like any other Seattle building, but the building has a character. The building has a security keypad. The lobby area is my favorite! very clean, modern, and stylish. The hallways seem very open and clean, the pet area is nice which my dog liked, and there is a wash station in the trash room for my dog. The rooftop is legit, can't wait for sunny, warm days when I'll be using it with my friends. The managing team is ok, like in any other building managing teams. I ran into the owner, and he was very friendly and nice. Was asking if I like living here. He seemed down to earth type of a guy. The unit itself is very nice and has very modern finishes like cabinetry, countertops, and flooring. Very different from other places. I would definitely recommend living here."
"nice and really pretty =) nice interior designer =) staff are amazing =) yay"
"I'd like to start my review by saying that the PM Courtney at Avala (who works offsite) is unprofessional in the way she communicates with tenants. For one, we communicate via text, not email. You will most likely not get a response back from her. If you do, she's absolutely no help whatsoever. I texted her informing her that my upstairs neighbor was making a ton of noise my first night (9/11/23) in my apartment. He's vaccuming, doing laundry, stomping, throwing things on the ground at 2AM on the daily. She sent a mass text to all tenants telling us all to "treat others how we'd like to be treated" instead of sending him an individual text to be mindful of the quiet hours. I ended up going to his unit and telling him that he's making way too much noise and his excuse was he works night shift.. I must've texted her 3x but she hasn't taken any action because nothing's changed. I have to sleep with white noise on every night otherwise all I hear is stomping and the laundry machine going all night. In short, the walls are extremely thin. Next, prospect tenants were told we'd get 1 month free rent if we applied within 24 hours and that should come in the form of a gift card which is such a joke. The property owners still haven't sent those gift cards. I've texted Courtney about this multiple times and her ultimate response was, the owners said they've been mailed out but she doesn't know when they'll arrive (this was a lie because it's been nearly 2 weeks and they still haven't came in the mail), it's out of her control, she can't do anything about it besides apologize. I get that it's out of her control, but how about persistently follow up with the owners on this matter? They definitely oversold and under delivered just to meet their vacancy numbers. Third, there's no security guard or PM onsite so if something were to happen to the building, we're all left to fend for ourselves. There was a power outage maybe 2 weeks ago that started at 5AM and Courtney ended up texting everyone about the outage around 10AM as if we didn't already know about it. When I left the building to go to work, the front door alarm was going off and no one came to shut it off. Shows how much they pay attention to the building! Lastly, there's only 1 floor dedicated to trash. It's gotten so full to where trash was over flowing onto the ground. The garbage can at the front of the apartment also gets extremely full. There was a coffee stain that was on the ground in the lobby that lived there for 1 month before someone came to clean it. My boyfriend comes to visit every now and then and even he made a comment about how the stain was still there.. The elevator floors are always dirty. Other than that, the studios are cute. Hallways are always clean... For now because of how new the building is. The interior design is elegant, and it's in a good neighborhood."
