"The farm is lovely to visit however the accommodations are extremely primitive. No stove. No refrigerator. No TV. No closet. You must park outside the gate and walk with your luggage to your converted chicken coop. Overpriced.."
"Just the best vacation we've ever had. The whole farm was absolute bliss each and every day. Beauty and peace surrounding you everywhere. I wish we could have taken Rosie the pig home with us. Our kids are begging us for a pet pig now! But best of all, the matriach Shana and her adult kids Sarah and Zack who operate it, just made us feel like family too. It felt like we were "home." Definitely coming back. And we really liked visiting in the off season. We were the only family on the farm and the island was pretty quiet in general too. I'd get a room with a kitchen... made life a little easier."
"Let the sounds of early morning birds joined by a chorus of quacking ducks happy chickens and jealous heritage turkeys make your heart sing and your soul joyful. This is a true working family organic farm well supervised by their dog Audrey, who is everywhere looking after us all. The family is respectful of your privacy if that is what you want, but also warm helpful and as friendly as can be. If you want to be involved in their work or lives they will welcome you. The rooms are pristine, with garden or farm views, plenty of outdoor seating and freedom to roam. Safe for even younger children if you’ve got em. Happy Vacation!"
"A little pricey, but you get privacy, beautiful accommodations and it is a very easy drive to and from the ferry. There is no oven or stove, but they happily provided charcoal for the grill."
"Once in a Blue Moon Farm is a beautiful place for anyone yearning to be immersed in nature. My husband and I took our children here so that they can be free to run around and just be. We also came to recharge and slow things down a bit as everyday life can be too fast. The family run farm is impressive with all the animals from horses, lamas, ducks, chickens, geese, turkeys, sheep, and goats. The family who run the farm warm and welcoming and a great resource for the history of the farm as well as things to do in Orcas Island. A treasured place filled with love and care for nature! I highly recommend this place for a family retreat!"
