"I was scheduled to move in on 12/4/2020, paid my holding fee and was approved to move in. Voicemail was full for 2 weeks. Manager only returned a message via text, that the Manager's Assist. was supposed to call and give me the update. Two days prior to me supposed to move in(12/2/2020), I decided to go in in person, to only find out that the unit D-103 that I was supposed to move in to, hadn't even been started to be cleaned and prepared to re-rent on 12/4/2020. I had to go find another place to live that same day or I would have been homeless, since I gave my notice where I was living. I went in the office later that week to ask for my money to be refunded to me in "good faith," as it wasn't my fault that I couldn't move on the agreed date of 12/4/2020. They told me my money would be refunded to me due to it being their fault, within 14 days and I am still having to fight them for my refund. I also sent a complaint to Cirrus Management (Property owners), they are also ignoring me. The saddest part is, we are living in a Pandemic, people are losing jobs and housing, families are struggling to survive and a business takes your money for a business transaction that never took place. They are giving me hell to just get my money back. I shake my head to this, but I am now going to take the legal route. I know they will place a standard reply to this review as if they are willing to work things out, but that is a lie. This is not a place to do business with, because you may be out on the street. They didn't even offer me an alternative to make the situation right for me. I should have listened to the reviews. The Manager Jamey that I was working with, had only been there 3 months and just up and left and didn't return one day. That is a huge statement about the Silver Shadow Management. I just met someone who's aunt lived there and said the mold issue is real there. I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I GET MY REFUND RIGHTFULLY OWED BACK TO ME! FOR ME, NOW IT'S THE PRINCIPLE OF HOW POORLY I HAVE BEEN TREATED AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY OTHERS THEY HAVE STOLEN THEIR MONEY FROM AND DON'T LET THEM MOVE IN AND DON'T GET THEIR MONEY BACK. Today I am also notifying the BBB and the Attorney's General. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but needless to say, you have to at least give 1 star to post your review. I'm pretty sure they have some dings against them from both of the entities listed above, so stay tuned. I will update what I learn from them. The Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection is now investigating the return of my refund. I have also informed the Better Business Bureau. If anyone else has problems similar or different, please contact these entities. Each complaint builds a bigger case for them to be watched of how they do business. Ashley, the Asst. Manager. and Suzzane, the Regional Manager both have told lies about me getting my refund. My transaction began on 11/22/2020 and it now 12/29/2020, STILL NO REFUND! I have faith that the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Office, will work things out in my best interest. If we all don't come forward about the poor management at Silver Shadow, then how you get treated is swept under the carpet and not addressed. Also, the ATG's office doesn't handle Tenant-Landlord disputes. They are handling mine because I never signed the Lease or became a tenant."
"Nothing but good things to say about this place! We were residents for almost 6 years, anytime we ever needed maintenance or help with anything they were on it. We recently had an issue occur with a new apartment complex we were supposed to be moving into (Avery At The Reserve) they took our holding deposit in May gave us a move in date. We go to move in and they have NO unit for us. I was so scared and worried I’d be homeless. Anne called me FIRST THING the next morning and assured me she wouldn’t let us be homeless. I went in later in the day to pick up a package and she came and gave me the biggest hug. She genuinely cared and was so apologetic for something she didn’t even do. I know some people have bad things to say but i would be the exact opposite. They were like family to us when my son was born they all were so excited for me to bring him in. They try to make it a better community for everyone, unfortunately with it being on pacific Highway they cannot control everything. If you want a place that will care about you and your well being, that treats you like family, and a maintenance staff that comes promptly for whatever is needed then this is your new home! Thank you everyone at silver shadow for taking care of us all these years we are sad to go but new renters be excited! Lots of nice renovations going on here :)"
"**My honest review as a prior Part-Time Assistant Manager/Leasing Professional at this location from May 2016-May 2018. PROS: 1. I saw a lot of growth in/on this property in the two years I was there. Ann (while sometimes hard to work with) did do A LOT in making this property a better place. She deserves lots of credit. 2. I'm glad to see that photos are (finally) being updated online to reflect the interior upgrades in the apartments themselves. People want to see what they are going to be paying for. 3. Our maintenance team, Dave and Andrew, did an amazing job at delivering beautiful and fully functional homes. A bonus is that they both always were kind to me and showed great character and respectful morals. 4. The owners of this property are very involved, generous, and truly care about the experience their residents have. I worked at probably 6 other properties during this time and none of the other properties provided any type of Breakfast-On-The-Go and/or Resident Events but this property did. Ownership made this possible. CONS & MY HOPES FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1. I hope things have changed for the better with office staff. The way I was treated when no one else was around to see, some of it was unfair or downright wrong (*minus 1 star). Also standing up for myself was pretty much unacceptable which is also unfair. I often felt unwanted, devalued, and below thou. I can't forget how I was treated and I hope the person who replaced me is treated with more respect. 2. I hope the new assistant got a new printer with a scanner that actually works because having to manually scan or print loads of documents was a waste of valuable time and also something related to printing would make my computer stop working altogether all of the time. I was seeking help from IT for over 6 months with no resolution on this. I paid a personal price for these issues (as if it was my fault this was happening to me) and it was unfair. 3. I also hope that they offered a full-time position for the new Leasing Professional or at least 4 days and every 1st-3rd. That is what was needed to maintain the expectations of the job and management policies regarding leads and work order follow ups. No one was keeping up on my daily tasks when I wasn't there so my tasks would pile during the week and therefore I always had to play catch up on my assigned work days and keep up with everything else which lead to unfair expectations. I always worked hard. 4. The siding and flooding issues really made me feel bad for the residents that lived there and I hated that my job was to sell people a home when I couldn't speak the full truth about these issues (*minus 1 star). I know they were in the works of fixing these things when I left so I truly hope they were addressed fully. If this was fully addressed I would give a 4 star review."
"My husband and I recently downsized as we are empty nesters and needed to be closer to My dad due to health reasons. It is quiet and clean. The maintenance crew is exceptional! Only had a couple minor things we needed help with and they were awesome! The gals in the office are so helpful, nice and have answered all of my questions I ever had. We love the amenities such as the gym, spa and pool. Our neighbors are very friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this complex for anyone to live at! Traci"
"Lived here for almost 3 months now. No complaints. Maintenance issues have been taken care of by friendly staff. My car was even towed for a minor parking issue and they helped me get my car released from the tow company. Fellow residents seem friendly and welcoming. Layouts and design of rooms are also nice. No complaints."
