Reviews of Providence Women's Health Clinic
"I called to schedule an annual wellness exam. I really hate talking on the phone and was very anxious. Terrible flute hold music. The girl who answered gave a frustrated sigh and said they weren't doing those anymore at that location. Very rude. Thanks for keeping my fear of calling people steadfast - Cheers!"
"I went in for my scheduled pap and was asked if a medical student could sit in during my exam. I agreed but when it came time to do the pap. I mean my legs are in the air and I’m laying back, the doctor instructed the medical student to sit down and do the pap exam for her. The entire experience was so painful and even days after my cervix hurts. My results say healthy and great but abnormal. Which is a result of the medical student poking and prodding. She had no idea what she was doing. I’m going to figure out how to report this and set up an appointment to see my PCP. I went to a gynecologist office and saw a medical student. Never Ever Ever EVER Again!!"
"Today was the day that I officially transferred care outside of Providence to the UW. I’d personally recommend, based on my experiences, that pregnant women, especially first time mom’s, stay far, far away from the Midwifery clinic here in Everett. They neglected my prenatal care and I’ll be reporting them to the State. What started out as a basic, low-risk pregnancy ended with gestational diabetes, that they only recently, at 32+ weeks, started managing. I hadn’t even received their “education” yet at 35+ weeks. My baby boy is currently measuring at 8.5 pounds according to the growth ultrasound at UW. At 35 weeks, his stomach is measuring at 41 weeks. Had this clinic done their due diligence with diabetes management, I’d likely not have ended up with a baby this size, most likely resulting in a scheduled c-section, according to the DOCTORS at UW. The midwifery clinic refused to transfer me to a doctor, with the knowledge that I had a large baby, citing low-staffing which is a violation of WAC. They’re not supposed to be accepting new patients if they cannot provide the necessary care or staff. I was diagnosed with RSV three weeks ago. They wouldn’t check me at triage until I let them know that if they’re refusing, they’re liable for any complications. They told me originally to go to ER or Urgent despite my discomfort with ER and Urgent not being specialized in prenatal care. Urgent ended up misdiagnosing me, as feared, and sent me home. When things worsened, I pulled over at the UW who diagnosed me with RSV. A blessing in disguise - I was able to see what quality care looked like as a new mom. They did non/stress tests and were able to provide education, support, and even an inhaler. Providence never scheduled me for non/stress tests nor did they check in, despite me informing them. It wasn’t until weeks later, when I had to FIGHT to get Care which included the stress tests and monitoring from MDs and despite all of the above, they still wouldn’t transfer me to an MD for labor and delivery, citing short staffing. Yesterday, one day before transferring care, I ended up in Providence triage. Thankfully I had my best friend with me who can act as a witness with the State to the gross neglect the midwife there committed. She said that because I “looked fine”, I must be fine. She said that because I don’t have a fever, I don’t have an infection. When I was asked my pain scale and I said 10/10 when I move, she said “10/10 is dead and dying”. They were about to send me home but I persisted. They took my blood and urine and it turns out I have a kidney infection! Once they diagnosed me, I tried to ask a few questions about my blood pressure and she cut me off, said she wasn’t going to “fight me”. My friend had to intervene and tell her how absolutely unacceptable the way in which she was speaking to me was. She continued with cutting me off, answering a question I didn’t even ask (had she let me finish). I told her to stop and we wouldn’t be continuing this conversation until she could speak respectfully to me, as I didn’t deserve that and I have the right to ask questions about my care and medication. She finally sat down and had a civilized conversation. UW has placed me in specialized care and recommended a c-section. There’s no way that Providence can say that the care they were providing me with was in line with what a midwife’s scope is. Hallie, my OB, was extremely inappropriate. When asked if I wanted pain medication during delivery, I said no and she told me “not to be a hero”. She made me fear circumcision for my son, told me there was no medical need for it. She kept pushing Tylenol and vaccines on me, telling me my baby could “perish” if I didn’t get them (scare tactics). She isn’t able to maintain a level of professionalism in a way which her opinions and personal afflictions don’t impact the women that she’s serving. If you experienced neglect or complications with your labor and delivery here, know that you’re not alone and you need to file a report to the State as well."
"The hospital billing department is a joke. I have spent at least 5 hours so far trying to fight their billing mistakes, and they keep on making them, and I get to find out 6 months after the fact. Not worth the doctors regardless of how good they are, unfortunately."
"Dr .Esther Mey is terrible .She is not knowledgeable, professional at all. She doesn't care about her patients and don't know what you do for them either."
