Reviews of Station House
"I have been living here since April 1st 2020 with my two kids and now husband. Here is what i have to say and tips i have for future tenants who are moving in or applying. Living here is okay, but I think that is because I lucked out and obtained a corner unit. The downside to living here is that the way they advertise the apartment are not what is included, our building manager you rarely see or is available, maintenence requests are hardly ever filled without having to be on them consistently. They like to use the community room ad ploy to get people to come here but us residents have never been allowed to use the room or rent it. We have been told since the day we moved in that we are not allowed in there unless we are a non-profit. We have a garden rooftop, which is awesome, but do not think you can take your kids up there to blow off steam and energy cause residents are not allowed to run (which includes kids). This is supposed to be a smoke free building however we had an incident back in November that could have been avoided if our current manager didn't tell people to go to the roof to smoke because she couldn't beat the battle on people smoking in the front. Buy an air purifier cause there is no insulation and dust accumulates fast in these apartments and if someone is smoking their meth, coke or cigarettes in their unit everytime you open your unit door it will get in. Also, buy a humidifier cause the apartment gets dry quickly as well as air-conditioning cause the windows are impossible in the summer to get open for airflow. Lastly, buy a noise machine to drown out people in the hallways at night cause no one knows how to properly close a door here. The building isn't that secure. Carry something to protect you cause the stairwells are unpredictable and people let all kinds of people in at night, so make sure you know when you are expecting packages and keep your bikes, scooter in your unit unless you want it stolen. If you are okay with all of this and listen to these tips, then welcome to the building. Dont forget to network with the sane residents cause that will be your saving grace surviving in this building."
"Station House has grown to be my home and I’m grateful for the location, consistent utilities/garbage disposal, community with the residents and for the past 6 months, elevated management and organization. Capitol Hill is a very lively neighborhood, plenty to do and appreciate. Of course, like any city, it’s best to be weary especially at night. I believe Station House does a great job embodying the spirit of the area through community. The current in house management team has done wonderfully in communication, fixing issues and has allowed me as a resident to be proud to call Station House home."
"My husband and I, have been residents of Station House Apartment, since September 30th, 2020. It has been an amazing, and interesting, exerience, living here. We have had to deal with at least eight (8) attempted break-ins. We have called the police and they showed up promptly and dealt with the situation. Thanks to Community Roots Housing, and the excellent construction, the secure steel front door which was kicked and stomped by the intruders, did not break. It helped to keep us safe. Hats off to them, and the East Precinct Police. I love my home. I want to give a special mention, and shout out to our new manager, Ms Nikki Trimble. She came just in the right time as we did not have a functioning manager. She is doing an outstanding and phenomenal job. Ms Trimble, is a professional and has been whipping this place into shape. She has a pleasant personality and goes about her task in a very helpful and emphathetic manner. If given the right opportunity, we have no doubt that she would be able to accomplish all that is needed to make Station House Apartment, a beautiful, and safe home for all. We are pleased with the work that she is doing, and recognizes that she is a hard worker who genuinely cares for us, the tenants. We look forward to having her as our property manager for a very long time. Thank you."
"I’ve really enjoyed living here over the past few years. Close to everything and I’ve really enjoyed our new property manager Nikki. She’s awesome! She responds so fast and you can truly tell she’s about the people who lives here, and not about money. She responds to emails so fast and she works so hard here. I really hope the company treats her right because we don’t want to lose her. A lot of my neighbors and myself love her here, she’s passionate and dedicated to us and works very hard and late nights to make sure our building stays on point. The last few months with her here have been so good, no stolen packages, clean building and people are actually able to get assistance. Not having to wait weeks for replies. Just wanted to give our hardworking, property manager a shout out because she’s been so helpful and great to have here at Station house/Community Roots Housing!"
