Reviews of Olympic Village Apartments
"2 stars because the apartment is serviceable and comparatively reasonably priced...as for the rest.... An enormous draw in my Husband and I deciding to rent here is the hot tub/pool. We both work hard and have chronic pain issues that made this the deciding factor in where we chose to rent. Due to 'staffing issues' the indoor area where they are located is frequently closed well before the posted time. You may or may not receive an email regarding the changes in hours, but complaints about this, and the fact the hot tub is frequently out of service were definitely met with a mass email about how that area is 'a privilege, not a right'. If that is the case, maybe stop using it as a selling point, especially when your leasing agents flat out said that tenant retention is a problem here. Hot tub has now been without functional jets for 3 months, and when we went to ask the front desk about it, the guy straight up lied ('No one else has complained. To my knowledge it is fully functional') and then became rude and dismissive when my Husband pressed the issue and asked for a manager. But hey, at least there are free cookies that I can't eat due to allergies, right? After the experience we have had here, the likelihood of us renewing our lease is extremely low. Would recommend shopping around before deciding on this complex. Edit to this review: It took them roughly eight months to fully fix the jets in the tub. They still haven't done much on their staffing issues in the office, however, so we still frequently find ourselves at a locked door to the pool area by 4 or 5 p.m. with no email explaining adjusted hours. Would really appreciate not only getting what we pay for, but some professional accountability in reciprocation for the expectations that we be timely in payment of our rent and professional in our dealings with office or maintenance personell. It feels like, far too often these days, especially in the context of property management, they can say what they want to sell you, and then treat you like a problem when you mention you aren't feeling good about not getting what you paid for."
"THIS IS A WARNING TO ALL MILITARY MEMBER; PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM OLYMPIC VILLAGE. My roommate and I were both on the Nimitz. We were just like you and didn't know better when it came to choosing an apartment complex. Please stay away from this place at all costs, there are so many other options. During my two years here, I've had issues parking nearly every night which means you will be looking for parking here more often than not. At one point here, residents had to park anywhere they could, blocking fire truck curbs, fire hydrants, anything just to be able to park. This was the first of many things that would indicate to us that this complex was terrible. My price for a two-bedroom apartment, which was as big as some broom closets, was nearly 2k a month. This means that you are paying almost double what you would pay if you would just rent out a home or even flat out buy one. For what? This subpar apartment complex? At one point they had tricked us into thinking we would be paying less since we had a military discount. This discount was taken from us within the first few months. Imagine you paying this premium of a price for a small apartment AND YOU DONT HAVE YOUR OWN PARKING SPOT. A year and a half of us living here we saw some traumatic things. This complex is not safe at all. There was a shooting outside of our building, H, and I have never felt safe here since. My roommate had to call 911 after hearing someone groan and die outside of our apartment and he still talks about it to this day. We had trouble sleeping from all the loud chatter and music being played outside of our building. These things really made us regret our lease with Olympic. I am currently battling Olympic over our move out bill. THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE US NEARLY $2,000 IN DAMAGES. The truth is, they are trying to scam us so we will pay to replace and renew their appliances. There actions are unlawful and despicable. Very much like thieves, they will attempt to pinch you of any profit they can get from you and scare you with threats of sending you to collection. Keep in mind that these people will charge you for a lightbulb out. In addition, they will fight tooth and nail to steal your "Security deposit" away from you. Your move out bill will have a full $300 dollar "standard" cleaning on it. THIS IS AGAINST THE NEW WASHINGTON STATE LAWS. I cannot stress this enough. MILITARY MEMBERS PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT. They do not care who you are and they will scam you. They have forced me and my roommate to have to reach out and get a lawyer just to battle their claims. I moved out two months ago and I'm still fighting them on their bold charges. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, familiarize yourself with Washington state laws on Landlords and Tenants. A lot of them have changed and Olympics' lease agreement is directly infringing against them."
"Amenities are constantly unavailable or broken, staff is rude and dismissive and will lie straight to your face. Find somewhere else to live. UPDATE: Dear "Owner" I do not accept your insincere apology and I strongly doubt you care about anything other than residents paying their rent on time. If you did you may have actually given something other than a generic response regarding my concerns. I'd also like to point out that an owner who was actually concerned and wanted to correct these issues wouldn't have disabled my ability to reply to your response. Spoke with manager again, she has now finally acknowledged that the jets in the hot tub are not properly operational, and havent been for several months, and blames this on the health department. She also revealed they have no backup plan to fix the issue if the jets they have installed can't be "modified" to be "stronger." The hot tub is essentially a large tepid bath tub and it will be staying that way for the foreseeable future and if we are lucky we might get an email whenever the person who originally installed the hot tub has time to come look at the issue."
"Spoiled! This place is so great its bad, honestly! We have a 2/2 and love it. Pet friendly, see neighbors walking their dogs, never heard of or had a package stolen. Management is friendly and communicative. I NEVER see garbage laying around. The price is a little high for my fiancé and I to have 2/2 ourselves as our roommate moved out but looking at other apartments, none have the amount of amenities, cleanliness, and layout that Olympic Village has. Thus, making it hard to move! We love it here and after about one year, will be renewing. We absolutely love the layout and the maintenance team is fast and friendly. 10/10"
"K. Hill: I have lived here for 6yrs. What I have observed during the last 2- years has been a very clean and neat environment. Maintenance is tremendously Professional and timely in (All Request) I have submitted on time. The parking at times has been a bit challenging, but when you get that number of people including Military looking to be housed in a 5-Star Apartment I feel it comes along with the territory. I can say since New-Management, I have seen this facility run very Professionally, I believe its due to the Management Upgrade which has taken place, so many residences including long-term residence are willing to stay in a well groomed apartment facility that knows how to take care of all those seeking a 5-Star Community!"
