Reviews of Fruitcocktail: Estate and Art Appraisals, Consignments, Brokering, & Estate Sales
"I'm sole Executor for my Father's estate and tasked with the need for an estate sale. Alyssa came highly recommended by my attorney. She worked with me, taking over from where I'd left off, with all items in the home. "Fruitcocktail" sold a large amount of items, gaining us much needed cash for future home repairs. I highly recommend Fruitcocktail Estate Sales!"
"Friendly polite and very helpful folks. They were organized and explained how the process worked as I had no idea. The sale went well and pricing seemed appropriate. I would hire them again. Alice"
"Very experienced, reliable, and professional service. They really go the extra mile for their clients. It's good to know that my own clients are in excellent hands whenever I recommend Fruitcocktail Appraisals & Estate Sales to manage estate sales, private collections, or just downsizing. The owner, Alyssa, has many years of experience in the business, and it shows. She understands the market and knows the best way to market the items and where. They advise, organize, price, and manage all of these details, making the whole process less overwhelming whilst protecting your assets and ensuring that you realize the the best value. Recommended!"
"Prices are high and inconsistent, let 25+ people in at a time, poorly managed and understaffed. The worst part is they let real estate and others come through as the sale begins to cherry pick. Then told us to stand back and let them shop when we were #1 on the list and the sale had started. The worst. Rude."
"I showed up to an Estate Sale Fruitcocktail had put on. It was supposed to be audio equipment. The photos clearly showed a lot of old equipment that needed attention. It was clear, that the former owner had been doing this a long time. When I arrived, I saw sticker prices on items that ranged from $300-$2500. These items were damaged, dirty, had mildew on them. I asked the cashier who sets the prices on these. She said they do. On a tube amp with a $2,500 price tag, I informed her all the tubes on the amp were blown. She got agitated and told me it was half-off, that it was a $7,000 amp and I could get replacement tubes. The amp, in mint condition sells for about $1,200 online (I hard to find online, but I looked up after I left). This amp was missing part of the case, plus the tubes were damaged, plus the case was damage, and when I tried to pick it up, the case flexed and bowed. Several of the pieces had the cases coming off, missing screws. One piece had electrical tape coming out of the electrical cable. The equipment was obviously super old. It was obviously damaged and in disarray. They needed a lot of repair. Even with a lot of repair, they'd never be mint. I left. This was the second estate sale I've been to hosted by Fruitcocktail. This is the second time I've observed extremely over priced stickers on junk. It is the second time this lady has gotten agitate with me justifying the price. I really hate the lies, "It's a $7,000 amp.". If you are a licensed appraiser, you shouldn't be lying on appraisals. A $600 price tag on a receiver where the case is lifting off with wires hanging out....that's just robbery. Sadly, the items, non-functioning, damaged and in need of repair, aren't worth anything in their state. There is a claim to be licensed as an Appraiser in Washington State, but I tried several combinations on the DOL website and The owner and the business don't appear to be licensed."
