Reviews of Sir James Apartments
"These are by far the worst apartments you could ask to live in. The parking is absolutely atrocious, the staff is inconsistent and they don’t know how to actually fix things. I would never recommend anyone to live here. Every morning I’m woken up because the windows aren’t sealed correctly and wind will blow through my closed window. They built two new apartment buildings right next to this one and they’re owned by the same people. They took the parking spots from our apartments and gave them to the others. I have no space to park in my assigned spot and the neighbors don’t make it any easier because it seems that the people who live here have no idea how to drive. I can’t express how absolutely bad these apartments are. If you want your car broken into you want to be woken up by screaming kids and leaf blowers then this is the place for you. I’d give it negative stars if I could."
"Parking is out of control, and everybody seems to just park as the please. We have a parking spot with our unit, as well as pay for an EXTRA spot. For the 3rd weekend in a row our extra reserved spot is occupied. Last weekend and the prior there was a vehicle in our spot all weekend. We called the after hours line multiple times, as directed by management, to no avail. Another weekend without the spot we pay extra for. Tonight, there are 8(!) Vehicles parked along the fire lane. This is prohibiting us from getting into our other spot. So, another weekend, and a resident that pays extra for 2 parking spots, has nowhere to park. I recommend having Metrowatch make a presence on the weekends, as it becomes a free-for-all, and the recommendation of calling the after hours line gets us nowhere! Weeknights can be just as bad. Something must be done."
"It's a decent place. I mostly like living here. I would rate it 4 stars, but for me the parking situation is pretty bad. If you only have 1 vehicle then it would be fine. The upper guest parking is fine but sketchy at times. I don't recommend parking on upper lot. The lot right below that is ok, but only if you have a tiny car. If you have a compact or larger, you will get your doors dinged and dented. I still like living here, but the parking is a real problem."
"Whatever you do, completely avoid this place if possible. Lived here for nine months and probably the worst mistake I've made. In the lease agreement after your 6 month lease ends you go into a month to month, which is perfectly fine. This isnt the first apartment I've lived in that's done that. So I put in my 20 day notice and let them know I'll be out in before the middle of the month, and that I'll pay for the time I've been there. All apartments I've ever lived in are completely fine with that and ask for payment from the beginning of the month til when I'm gonna terminate. Not sir James, they charge for the entire month and ask let you know when you can return your keys. Not only that but when I first moved in, the landlord would even change out the carpets even though there were clearly stains and rips in the carpet and it was so flat after having been used for just over 7 years and not having been removed and not only that but the neighbors are inconsiderate constantly parking in your assigned spot and because the on site manager isn't ever there you can't ever put in a complaint. Then the paint that they use is cheap and it melts when it gets overly hot or moist (especially in the bathroom) most of my counter tops were peeling or had holes in them and the bathroom shower had mold around the door that I tried over and over again to get rid of and it always came back.. And you can hear everything.... The windows are so thin and the walls almost as thin. Save your money and spend it somewhere that's worth it. If I could have rated this a no star, I would have."
"When I first moved in, I love the layout! Shortly after moving in, several apartments and vehicles were broken into. The parking is a horrible nightmare. If your vehicle is between a truck and an SUV, expect your car paint to be scratch and/or dented. If you have a request for maintance, good luck. A year later, I am still waiting for several issues to be fix! Don't expect your security deposit back. The manager will make false promises and will refuse to put it in writting. You will be charged for things that were already there before you moved in. Carpets, dents or wholes on doors, hidden mildew (invest in bleach). There is something wrong with the plumbing, the toilets are always getting clug in the first floor. I had a huge plumber bill on the third day of my lease, shortly after, I was told by a plumber to invest on a plumbing snake (while living there, it became my best friend). If your upper level neighbors have pets (birds, guinea pigs) expect their waste to rain on your back patio, I was constantly cleaning that and cigarettes butts. If you have any comments or complaints, management will ignore you and refuse to reply any email and/or letters."
