"Disappointed to say the least. Six units in one building and one trash can. Asked for a second can and have heard nothing. Trash fills up in two days so all of us just let it overlow inside of our apartments waiting on trash day. Hobbies... not here! My boat, crab pots, and grill had to go. All off site mind you. Cleaning lady seems strung out and is very load. Every month something's wrong and we are forced to comply. Think twice before renting thu this company."
"I lived at their 1527 Exchange property about a year ago and let me tell you, every nightmare story you read here is true; you do NOT want to rent from these people or live in their properties. Nan is hostile towards tenants, her husband is in change of maintenance and acts offended to have to perform any. My apartment was covered in mold and the exterior walls of the building were saturated with moisture so much so that things never really dried out. There was also an active leak in my bathroom ceiling that was dirty brown water which took them over a week to even respond to. Slumlords seems like an appropriate descriptor."
"Nan is intentionally abusing her tenants, and not respecting their rights. Her house of cards will come down soon. Nan has scheduled construction for non emergency repairs that took days and required heavy tooling to be operated less than 6 feet from tenants in their homes, and provided 0 warning. She doesn’t believe her tenants are entitled to safe functioning ventilation in their homes. I’m grateful for the organizations within Oregon that do protect tenant rights. It’s a shame they take so long to get the job done. Don’t rent here. The beauty of Astoria won’t be worth it when you can’t actually enjoy your home. Speaking from experience."
"My partner took over the remainder of a tenant's lease for a property run by this company. I applied to move into the rental once his current roommates moved out, and was accepted. An inspection was done weeks after my acceptance. My partner was home during the inspection, and heard the inspectors discussing how large the rental was, and talked about dividing the rental into separate apartments in order to make more money. Immediately after the inspection, my partner and I received cancellation notices from Nan Schoenwald with no explanation. I went to the office the same day in order to ask about the cancellation. I waited for Nan to be available, and she was hostile toward me immediately. She said there were unauthorized tenants in the home and that was the reason they rescinded my and my partner's acceptance. I was with my partner when he moved in and with him when he called Nan to confirm that he was, in fact, on the lease and his application had been accepted. Her excuse seemed like a copout in order to have the house empty in order to section it off into more rentals. I told her that because I had been accepted, and didn't renew my current lease, I would be homeless in 15 days. She told me I would be in the same position if she had denied my application initially, which is absolutely not true. I would have renewed my lease in that case. The people at this company do not have compassion for their tenants, and do not see or treat their clients as actual people. Profit will come before anything else for this company, and I would strongly advise renters look elsewhere if they want stable living situations. I have rented many places, from both individual landlords and property management companies, I have always been a clean and responsible tenant, and I have never experienced customer service this irresponsible and unpleasant before."
"While I have yet to rent from PTPM they have been the most professional, helpful, and kind property management in the area in my search for an apartment. Their communication is excellent and they were very prompt and thorough in responding to all my questions. I can tell they care a great deal about their tenants and properties. Would highly recommend doing business/ renting from them from my experiences just this far. Thank you to the PTPM team for being so great!"
