Preservation House is a historic institution located at 2074 West Market Street in Akron, Ohio. It is managed by Progress Through Preservation of Greater Akron (PTP), an organization dedicated to promoting the preservation, maintenance, restoration, and adaptive reuse of buildings, sites, and neighborhoods of historic or architectural significance in Akron and Summit County.

Established in July 1984, PTP was formed in response to urban renewal policies that were changing the landscape of cities, including Akron. The organization's mission is to actively encourage and support the preservation of historic structures and neighborhoods in the area.

In 2009, PTP signed a 10-year agreement with the City of Akron to manage and restore the former Portage Township schoolhouse, which is now known as Preservation House. The restoration of Preservation House was completed in 2014, and it is now available to rent for social gatherings and meetings.
