"The WORST hospital I’ve ever been to. My Primary Care Physician always writes referrals here and I have the hardest and most difficult time getting an appointment. I always call my insurance to switch to UW or literally anywhere else. Don’t waste your time unless you’re going to the ER. I don’t even blame the doctors. I blame the admin department."
"My wife called 911 for heart attack symptoms. Ambulance brought her to Providence. They didn't admit her. Kept her in the lobby. No water was offered. No doctor saw her. No testing was done. The nurse only came every 30 min about. After 2 hours without any attention or care she had to leave to seek care elsewhere. This was terrible. I feel bad for anybody who ends up here."
"Terrible experience in this ER. My Mom has dementia full on. Arrived 11:20 AM my Mom had a bad fall. At 5 pm still had not seen a Dr. Well the Dr came in for 5 seconds at 2 pm got a phone call and left without saying a word never returned until about 6 pm. My Mom was so agitated. I was worn out.The Xray person literally yelled at her for not laying down. She was so freaked out and she has dementia! Barely saw nurses. After 6 hours I took all the oxygen and heart leads off her and dressed her she was freezing and hadn't eaten all day. A nurse came in and said shed be diacharged but then nothing happened. So I had to take out my Mom's IV, all the ekg sticky things were still all over her very very thin skin. I took them all off before her skin would rip off. Never had to do this in an ER but they needed to be off her skin and the IV was causing her discomfort. They didn't even check her IV until I told them I took it out. All day I heard multiple room alarms in other rooms going off and nothing is done with them. I unplugged all. Very much freaking out my Mom. Nobody came to nurse call button for at least 25 mins.I would not come here if you could avoid it. Terrible awful experience. I saw multiple people sitting in the hallways on beds. If they had taken care of my Mom in a timely manner, they'd have had a room. Also why is this place so dirty. They need to train people about taking care of a person with dementia. Heard someone in a nearby room screaming for hours also. What the heck. This is not an ER. It's a joke. I didn't get home until after 7 pm. 7.5 hours in this ER. This is not our first experience . The first time was 9 hours and much worse. DONT GO HERE"
"I feel as maybe people aren't patient or understanding enough, nurses and doctors and so short staffed and of course emergencies are dealt with by manner of life and death. When I got appendicitis a few weeks ago the entire thing was terrifying, I waited a bit sure but the staff made sure I was comfortable and ok. After being seen I was given many options and all the nurses and doctors were very kind. I don't have insurance so honestly I was even more scared of the bill and it was rather huge but they have wonderful financial assistance programs. I was able to get help and not only am I in good health now but the debt is gone! I'm honestly in tears this morning from happiness and overall everything. I honestly don't know what I would have done, I'm so incredibly thankful and grateful to the wonderful people at providence."
"Every time I come to this ER it’s always.. an experience. They get people checked in relatively quickly, but being pregnant I needed to use the restroom immediately after checking in. Blocking the restrooms, the only ones available in the waiting room I might add are two techs blocking the entrance. Being so, I asked if I could use the restrooms. One nurse says of course, kindly, the other nurse says “no” loud and obnoxiously. I knew she was just joking, and I can appreciate someone trying to be funny. But I was not at all in the mood for that. After returning to the waiting room I had to listen to the nurses being extremely loud, cursing some. It seemed extremely unprofessional. Long story short. I felt like the care I received here was rushed and not explained well. I was discharged very soon after receiving a chest x-ray with no discussion with the doctor afterwards. And the needle I had put it for blood draws was blown out because of the awkward placement which hurt so badly. I just hope that the “care” I did receive was accurate. Hospital visits can add up, I feel it’s important to get the best care possible while you’re in the hospital."
