Reviews of Springfield Meadows YMCA Child Development Center
"Terrible communication and price gouging. Find child care anywhere but here. The management team is extremely incompetent. We immediately removed our daughter from this facility when they decided to change their schedule mid year on us saying "rules had changed". They also gave us new 2023 child care price rates in January, then two weeks later raised the price another 25%. There are no current policy manuals, therefore they just make up rules and procedures as they feel fit. They do not allow parents into the child care rooms, so you have no idea how your child is being taken care of. STAY AWAY!"
"My kiddos have been going here for 6+ years, and we love the staff. My kids are always so excited to come in and share their weekend doings with their teachers, and hearing them shout, "I love you teacher!" At the end of every day warms my heart."
"I use to love bringing my kids here but that was VERY short lived as to my kids ended up being sent home more than being in school everytime I had them home to get better it seemed they would go back just to get sick the first day being back and I mean they didn’t go anywhere besides home and then to school so we knew where the sickness was coming from. my son use to come home with different bite marks and multiple incident reports becoming a daily thing when I addressed my concerns about it shortly after we noticed the pattern of being forced to take my kids home due to being sick from multiple different things diarrhea was our most common one but they also never fed my lactose children any alternatives after being told of their dietary needs MULTIPLE TIMES and that I had to supply all the alternative foods and drinks if I wanted them to not have milk or cheese. After talking with others I’ve realized this is a common thing with this facility and they take advantage of state assisted parents because they can send a kid home all month long and still get the check from the state. I mean never once have I been allowed to even see my child’s classroom so who knows how those are oh also if you try going to any director or authority of the place you won’t get a response and if you do it will be from the chef saying they don’t know what to tell you this place needs a serious evaluation because seems to be more going on behind the scenes of this place."
"I have not had a very pleasant experience with this facility. My children have probably been sent home more Days then they have attended, The staff is generally friendly although I feel like the standards are kind of two sided... as the children with a cough are being sent home while the staff Are coughing throughout the facility, One teacher had covid 19 which resulted in all of the children in that class being sent home for 3 days with a doctor's note confirming a clear bill of health before being allowed to return, there were no protocols in place to test the staff for covid 19 during the peak of the pandemic prior to their entry of the facility running the risk of infecting Amino compromised children. And lastly due to the previous statement of the children being sent home regularly one reason was (most common) "diarrhea" When my child has never had log type hard stool and the consistency in the morning Pre daycare and after being picked up from daycare have been consistent with what they are the entire time they've been attending this facility."
"My 2 kids have been going here more than 3 years. They have moved through 4 classrooms, from infants all the way through preschool. I completely trust every single teacher I have encountered. They are helpful with everything from feeding infants to potty training. I even went in during my lunch break once and breastfed my baby right there in the infant room, they are supportive of your parenting choices. You can bring in pumped breast milk if you want (I did). I have had a weird and constantly changing work schedule and they have been very accommodating with my schedule, changing my days around as needed as long as they had room. The teachers are caring and kind with the kids and they share funny stories from the day at pickup. I really could not be more happy with this facility. Also, there is more than one parking spot. There are 4 right by the front door plus a handicap spot and a few more just feet away. I can ALWAYS find a spot nearby and usually right by the front door. It can be a little busy getting in and out since it is in the front of a large apartment complex, but the road in front of it is not super busy."
