"When my wife and I decided to finally build our dream home, we were introduced to Bruce Atkins of Heritage Building and Design by a close friend. We were immediately impressed with the time he gave to us as he spent several hours of his busy day viewing several residential lots available in the community we desired. After considering the advice Bruce gave to us, we ultimately chose a wonderful lot and began the design process. Although we had interviewed other builders about design and construction of our home, Heritage Building and Design clearly stood out as the best. A stellar reputation, vast experience in custom home design, endlessly patient and kind customer service, and a large "reference library" of beautiful and meticulously appointed local homes to see as models of their expert craftmanship certainly made our decision to select Heritage very easy. Having never built a home before, my wife and I were very nervous about the endeavor. However, Bruce made the entire process so very easy. After carefully listening to our desires, he custom-designed several house plans for us from which to choose. After selecting one, he patiently re-drew, tweaked, and otherwise changed the plan as many times as we desired until he had the plan exactly the way we had dreamed. He, along with other members of the Heritage team, then personally came with us to help select everything in, on and outside the house, including appliances, cabinets, countertops, lighting, flooring, paint, plumbing, and exterior materials and colors. Throughout all of this, we never felt rushed, pressured or otherwise hurried to make decisions. Their patience and kindness with us were seemingly endless! Once construction began, it was amazing to see our dream arise from the house plan to reality. The Heritage team really shined, as they accepted nothing short of perfection in the performance of their subcontractors. If work was not performed to their high standard, it would be re-done over and over again until they were satisfied. If something was not to our personal satisfaction, then - without the slightest hesitation or argument - they saw to it that the issue was resolved to our liking. They simply would not stop until we were completely satisfied in every way. It is very evident that customer service is the ultimate priority for Bruce and the rest of the Heritage team. As I write this review, we have enjoyed living in our beautiful, Heritage-built home for approximately 9 months. We couldn't be happier. Also, Heritage's customer service doesn't end with the delivery of the home. Since moving in, whenever we've had a question, concern, or issue, Bruce has been very attentive. He continues to patiently give us as much time as we need whenever we call and happily resolves any issue quickly. We are very thankful to our friend for first introducing us to Bruce; we couldn't recommend Heritage Building and Design any more highly. They are certainly the premier custom builder on the Grand Strand."
