"My husband and I really enjoyed touring this home. The property had a unique history, with the home being built on the foundation of an old jail. The home and the grounds were in good condition, considering the age of the property. John, our guide did a great job of sharing a lot of information. He did it in a way that kept your interest throughout the tour. Although, we enjoyed the time we spent outdoors, we are looking froward to revisiting the home in the spring. We are excited to see the gardens in bloom. I highly recommend this historical home tour In Wilmington, NC . If you happen to get John as a tour guide, you will not be disappointed."
"It’s always amazing the history you can see and learn in these old home. John is a great tour guide. Glad we took the time to visit the Burgwin-Wright House."
"Hunter, the Assistant Curator gave us a wonderful tour of this 18 century home. It’s interesting to note the builder lived 8 miles away on his plantation of 1000 acres. He used this home for entertainment, music, dancing and guest rooms. “The Headquarters of Cornwallis is this 2 story white weather-boarded structure built 1770. Cornwallis maintained his headquarters here while in possession of Wilmington in 1781.” There is a self guided walking tour of the Gardens on site."

"I knew that Julia was a tour guide when I arrived early to visit the garden and then the historic jail house. Julia has an excellent presentation style and is very gracious about personal interests and needs. I highly recommend this historic site as it is filled with original building materials, furniture, and family heirlooms. Thank you Julia for sharing your kindness and passion for colonial family history."
